Delicious Japanese food to be found here which was a pleasant surprise whilst visiting Bright for the Hot Rod car weekend. We sat at a little table set out the front for dinner which was perfect. They have a great range of options on their menu to please everybody including good options for vegetarians. They also serve a small, but really good range of international beers, wines and other cold beverages. Note that there is only a tiny amount of outside seating - mostly for a quick bite OR to pick up some amazing take away. Highly recommend trying this place if you're in the area.

Absolutely AMAZING Japanese food in the most picturesque town of Bright! We stopped past here on our way to the snow and it was so popular we couldn’t get a table - but all agreed we HAD to come back on our way through to Melbourne again.. 100% worth waiting for! Every dish we ordered was outstanding!! We were also lucky enough to meet the owner who was super friendly and made us feel special. Thank you for making our last meal in Bright so magical!

Looking for lunch this afl weekend. Chanced upon this Japanese place. Definitely a rare find. Very nice rice dons. We had Korean spicy chicken and surf and turf. Oiishi ne!! There sushi rolls, noodle options. We definitely come back for other options. Only minus is the place is really small. And it’s a really popular place so either ado a takeaway or be patient for a table. Don’t come in a big group so you get nice Japanese food.

I can't all the outstanding reviews for this place. OK, the food we had was quite good. It was adequate, but not outstanding. Frankly, no different from your average bento/don place in the city. Except the prices are quite steep for what was basically pretty standard meat on rice in a bowl. We had to wait 50 minutes for a take away and with all this fuss of lining up on the footpath, the shop closing early because apparently they ran out of food, all the time I'm watching and thinking, "wow, this place must be unbelievable". But no - very standard fare. The all-white team of staff were rushed off their feet complaining about how busy they were, but to be honest I'm looking around and thinking, this is just your average weeknight batch of orders - and they were seriously not coming in very fast considering they made each order come inside 2 at a time 10 minutes apart. This honestly shouldn't be a problem for a serious restaurant. If you're running a skeleton crew with an empty fridge, maybe reconsider your offering. In addition, the girl gave me a "tax invoice" to claim back a dining rebate, but got home and saw that's not a tax invoice - good for nothing. In conclusion it seems Bright is being flooded with tourists and this place is just one of the only takeaways left with capacity to take orders. But they are really only just barely coping and the overinflated price does not match the standard food. Next time I would just grab a pizza and...

I am continually surprised by the quality of all sorts of cuisine in this part of Victoria.

The gyoza are absolutely divine - I have sampled many a gyoza all over Melbourne, and safe to say the gyoza here is better than any that I've ever had - including my own.

The sticky eggplant was reminiscent of a nasu dengaku but lathered in a rich, umami filled soy/mirin? dressing. Even the meat lover in me would prefer this dish over all else. It's like being spanked hard, by an explosion of savoury goodness. Heavenly.

The only downside was the pork katsu curry - it was a bit disappointing considering this is basically a signature dish if the restaurant. The curry sauce was absolutely delicious, and I could have eaten barrels of rice just with the sauce, the sweet potato and potato wedges were incredible to mop up the sauce with, and the picked radish added a nice crunchy texture and tang. However, the cut of pork used was chewy and had unedible tendony parts in it, and the panko crumb moist and soggy.

Over all a delightful experience, and would recommend.

Keep in mind they are only doing take-away for now. But the shop is a short walk down to the creek and it is lovely to sit outside and enjoy nature, they supply all cutlery...

Nice little Japanese eatery in Bright. We visited this part of Victoria recently during the Autumn which is the Busy season. Moreover we ordered our dinner for Takeaway on Busiest Saturday evening. When we went there to pick up our order, there was long waiting....still we got our order in time as committed so we were very impressed. Food was very nice too. However only thing lacking was portion of the serve. We paid 20 bucks for Vegetable Curry, which was delicious but thought serve was bit small compared to what we got charged. It wasn't the deal breaker though. May be someone else who got the same opinion to share which might make owner to revise their size of serves. Overall pleasant experience and I recommend this place if happen to be...
