Carina Leagues Club — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I only write reviews if the place is amazing or if there are significant issues with quality of service. Lengthy review incoming...

Upon arrival we asked a waiter to move to Arties from the dining area (as it was quieter) he seemed to have no clue what to do and just gave us a thumbs up without really communicating further than that.

We ended up moving and ordered drinks from the bar which came to our table with nil issues. As i write this we are currently sitting here waiting for our food which we ordered at the same time as the drinks. We flagged a waitress to ask if our food was delayed (two steaks with sides), but she didnt return to our table to let us know whats going on and just continued servicing tables. It's been an hour since we ordered (approx 6:45pm)

At the start of the year, the service was great and food was fast. We are regulars here. But this has left a little bit of a sour taste. We have noticed the service and quality of food has significantly dropped.

Update: just went up the the kitchen and asked another waitress what the deal was. Apparently they started using a new technology for their docket system and she admitted staff had no idea what they were doing because of issues with the new system. I replied "i can tell", because all of the staff were huddled around the service area waiting for instructions.

Update: waitress came back and confirmed our order. Apparently it was knocked off the list as "served". She apologised and investigated the issue so 5 stars for her service. Thank you.

Update: now we have no choice but to play keno and order another drink while we wait - not such a bad thing.

Update: another waitress (who we have had good experiences with in the past, apologies for not learning names), offered us free drink vouchers. Thank you.

Update: another 15 mins have passed. Another waitress brought a drink voucher, unaware we had already received one. I let her know, but informed her about a nearby customer who I observed was waiting for his meal (also for a long time). This waitress was great. Thank you.

Update: steaks arrived, both over charred on the grill and overcooked (we ordered medium, it was more than well done and super tough, the photos actually compliment the steaks as opposed to how they really were) The sides that came out with the steaks were not what we ordered. After all that, our order was incorrect. We ate the food anyway as we were too hungry by this point, but we were so disappointed with our meal.

I will note they have some good value in terms of pricing on their menus, especially if you're a member.

Unfortunately, until the venue sorts out their kitchen in what is a really clean and good looking venue with nice atmosphere (which is what earned their stars), i can only give a generous 2/5.

Ps. It was hard to write this review because their staff are mostly great. Maybe my expectations are too high for a Leagues Club? We normally rave about this place to our friends.

I'm not an expert by any means and my opinion is insignificant, but i think the kitchen would benefit from an internal practice/taste test of their menu items just to refine things a bit and bring back the higher...

As an immigrant to Oz, there are many new and wonderful things that I get to experience. Among them are the league clubs. We don't have this concept in America, but probably should. These clubs serve as local centers for area pride and offer food and entertainment for their members. We have visited several of the league clubs (hopefully that is not disloyal) to give them a once over and also to find find hidden gems for value and an awesome outing. I believe that we have found a great choice if you haven't been there: Carina Leagues Club. Recently renovated, Carina Leagues Club offered an excellent option for dining and entertainment.  With two separate areas for outdoor dining and several different restaurants for ala carte dining, the expansive space affords patrons the ability to dine in a manner that suits their mood! The menu is varied and offers a variety of well-prepared dishes at reasonable prices. Need a drink? There are at least 4 different bars that can meet your requests, and with over 18 different beverages of tap, you won't have a long wait to get your ice-cold drinks! The best part of the experience has to be the super attentive staff! The great staff like Donna at Guest Reception of Tim in Marketing make you feel welcome and well looked after. Everyone makes you feel like they are happy that you are there.

Do you have kids (under 12) but feel like you can't find anywhere to go and keep your little ones occupied?   CLC has an excellent Kids Club, including a slide from the main level down to the lower level. There are arcade games, different video game platforms, a rock climbing wall, and more available. Your kids can even have their meals while in the Kids Club. There is a separate check-in desk for the kids where you will be able to get more details and rules. As for adult entertainment,  the gaming room is equally impressive. They have the latest games for you to play. There is free-flow coffee and expresso all day, plus a separate bar to meet your needs. There is also a sports book available yo take your wagers on sporting events.

Do you have a corporate event or larger gathering on your calendar?  CLC has got you covered there as well. They have two large conference rooms that are separated by a removable wall. Each room can accommodate up to 200 people. You can reach out to the marketing group regarding booking fees and minimum spending requirements.

Carina Leagues Club is located at 1390 Creek Rd, Carina.

The club is only a short walk to where the Carina Junior Rugby League teams play their games.

Carina Leagues Club is a family-friendly community-based establishment with child caring amenities to keep them safe & active under supervision by qualified staff 👍

There is an excellent "drop-off & pick-up" point at the front entrance to this club. There are ramped areas for people with disabilities & the door entry opens automatically.

Carina Leagues Club has adequate undercover & open-air parking, which is situated in & around the club.

This fine establishment has an excellent sporting bar which offers a fantastic range of live sports. The bar has a wonderful range of craft beers & other beers on tap, a wide variety of 🍷 & spirits 😋

Adjacent to the sporting bar is the cafe shop where you can relax & enjoy a great coffee ☕, tea or a hot snack or cake 🎂 🥮

Also located as you move around the club is an excellent restaurant where you can relax & enjoy a meal from their menu. All dietary requirements are catered for everyone's needs.

You can either order your meal from the table by using the club website or go & line up.

All meals are brought to your table by the club's friendly staff.

There is another bar located nearby which also serves a large range of craft beers & fine wines 🍷 The clubs TAB area is located at this point of the club.

Live entertainment is regularly available at the Carina Leagues Club.

The newly refurbished, which is now a larger gaming area, caters to a wide variety of poker machines, you can relax & order your drinks while you play.

A smoking room is located near the gaming area.

Brisbane City Council Bus services run regularly along Creek Rd.

Carina Leagues Club is one of the best Community based clubs on the south side of Brisbane & the wonderful staff are only too happy to assist you with making your visit enjoyable & relaxing time.

NOTE: On my visit today, the 28th of May 2025, the Carina Leagues Club major renovations have been completed 😀

The newly revamped reception area is now up & running. An excellent improvement to this area of the club.
