Rude Owner & Horrible Pasta
My recent visit to Panchos, a touted "top pick" Italian restaurant in Carina, turned out to be my last, after leaving a sour taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. It's disheartening to hear similar sentiments echoed in other reviews.
Now, let's delve into the pasta itself, which left much to be desired. The Cajun chicken pasta dish was marred by a sauce that was uncomfortably sweet, overpowering any semblance of balance and harmony. It felt as if the chef had decided to experiment with an abundance of sugar, disregarding the principles of traditional Italian cuisine. The cloying sweetness detracted from the enjoyment of the meal and left me craving the authentic flavors I had anticipated in the menu description. It appeared the dish had an inclusion of curry powder in a cream sauce which was an utterly bewildering choice. The clash of flavors was jarring and perplexing, resulting in a discordant and disconcerting taste experience. It felt as though the chef had attempted to fuse disparate culinary styles without considering the compatibility of flavors. The ill-conceived combination of curry and cream left me questioning the chef's understanding of Italian cuisine and their respect for the traditional foundations of the dishes they served. This dish NEEDS to be removed from the menu set and is an abhorrent disrespect to the Italian cuisine.
Unfortunately, my attempts to express my dissatisfaction with the pasta and sauce were met with a dismissive and defensive response from the owner. Instead of addressing my concerns or offering any form of resolution, I was met with an attitude that implied I simply did not understand their unique culinary vision. Such behavior is not only discourteous but also highlights a lack of accountability and customer-oriented focus.
However, it became evident that the owner had sampled the dish we sent back, recognised our valid critique, and yet chose not to acknowledge their mistake. Moreover, rather than owning up to the mistake, they sent a waitress to inform us that the item would be removed from the bill. This act of deflecting responsibility to send concessions through intermediaries added insult to injury and showcased the owner's unwillingness to take personal accountability.
Such unprofessional behavior is unacceptable in any dining establishment. The inability to gracefully acknowledge and rectify mistakes shows a lack of humility and a disregard for customer satisfaction.
As a passionate lover of Italian cuisine, it is disheartening to encounter a restaurant that fails to deliver on the promise of authentic flavors and a positive dining experience. I strongly advise potential patrons to seek alternatives that prioritize quality, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.
Save your money and experience the joyfulness of Italian cusine within the same price range around the corner at Elios. If the budget permits, try Sasso, Tartufo and then Persone.
If the owners ever read this please note:
As a staunch advocate for supporting local businesses in my home suburb , it pains me to witness a restaurant that claims to be a small establishment but exhibits none of the principles that make such businesses admirable. Despite my initial enthusiasm to contribute to the local economy, the owner's complete disregard for basic principles of hospitality, professionalism, and culinary integrity has shattered any notion of this being a deserving recipient of local support. It is disheartening to witness a business that fails to uphold the values that define and differentiate small enterprises, leaving me with no choice but to withdraw my support and encourage others to do the same.
Arrivederci. Non...

However, fast forward to our current home in Carina Heights, and the stars aligned as we discovered that Pancho's had set up shop just a short walk away. Our sense of fortune was palpable.
What's most reassuring is that Pancho's pizzas remain as delectable and of the same high quality as we remembered them from years ago. It's a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence. The staff here are not only efficient but also exceptionally friendly, making you feel like a part of their extended family.
The drinks from the bar are priced fairly, which adds to the overall appeal of this charming establishment. The atmosphere at Pancho's exudes warmth, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed evening out.
Pancho's also caters to those seeking a quick and satisfying meal. Takeaway options are readily available for those who prefer to savour their delicious offerings elsewhere.
Needless to say, we've found our way back to Pancho's Pizza, and it's safe to say we'll be returning again and again. It's more than just a pizzeria; it's a place that brings back cherished memories and creates new ones with every visit. If you're in search of decent food in a welcoming environment, Pancho's is the...

I took my 10yr son out for a mothers day dinner we we booked for 6 it took 20 mins to take our order, we ordered a salt and pepper calamari to share for entree and a carbonara to share for our main. Our entree came out after 15 mins but half an hour after that we still had no main, our entree plates had not been cleared and i had not been offered a second glass of wine in the whole hour we had been there we also had to ask for water 3 times. When i confronted the woman who ran the place she was incredibly rude and argued we had only waited 45 mins, 45 mins for a pasta and 2 min deep friend calamari maybe if i ordered a well done steak i would be happy to wait that long but a pasta your kidding me right. If u cant handle how busy your restaurant is put on more staff. I would not recommend this place to anyone the food is not worth the poor service i can make a better...
