The Carport Cafe is a hidden gem that offers an exceptional experience for coffee lovers and casual eaters alike. Nestled away from the shopping centre it might be easy to miss, but that would be a mistake. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here as I saw it was pretty well rated. I was a bit disappointed though :(
The staff are lovely and friendly with great service, that was a plus for sure!
In terms of our drinks though, it was a bit of a let down. My iced chai was watered down, probably the worst iced chai Iāve ever had, Iāve made better tasting ones at home. I also saw little tiny white chunks floating at the top, which I was a bit wary of. The coffee my partner had was apparently not great either.
The food was okay but nothing that I could say was better than other cafes Iāve been to. The smoked salmon didnāt taste very fresh and I couldnāt really taste the pesto on the toast. Although my partner enjoyed his eggs benedict so Iām glad his dish turned out good.
Iām not sure if I just went on a day where maybe they were just having an off day, or if I just happened to choose a less popular dish, but I was expecting better quality based on their reviews.
Iām always willing to give cafes another chance as I donāt let just one experience justify everything for me. Especially since it is family owned, I would like to support it so I will definitely be giving it another try in the...

Having been to southeast asia in the past which it reminded me of, Carport cafe had a chilled relaxed feel which I liked. the staff are so nice and always serve with a friendly smile.
I have only had the eggs benedict with ham as its sooo nice š and its on sourdough bread, nice runny eggs, good holondaise sauce and proper ham not wafer thing stuff.
the coffee is really nice and recently I had a craving for some chai tea. I asked the owner if she had it and although not on the menu she made it for me and it took me right back to my time in india. she also told me it its a home recipe which was extra nice. its a family run cafe and i love that the kids get involved too so it teaches them about work and money. A hidden gem at the back of cannondale for sure and I highly recommend. Russell Sturgess got the wrong end of the place i think. Carport Cafe isnt trying to be top end, its a rustic place that has plenty of greenery, but make no mistake, it is punching above its station and punching well. my go to...
