Phone ordered and when I went to collect the order it was already on the front counter beside the cash register. Thought it felt lukewarm (which it was). And didnt quite understand why it was in an ‘Uber Eats’ bag ??? Order was taped shut with a copy of the order attached. Got home and found burger that was part of my order was missing though it was listed on the receipt attached to the bag. Phoned and explained what had happened and the girl who I spoke to responded by laughing. When I asked her why she would think it’s appropriate to laugh about what had happened she said she thought it was ‘ironic’. I told her I thought laughing was just plain rude and that I failed to see any irony in what had happened. Her response was to offer a store credit or else she could get one cooked. Given that I will never go back again I got back in my car and collected the burger (freshly cooked supposedly but again lukewarm). When I got there was another customer complaining her order was wrong. Recurring theme here guys! I came home and ate my cold salmon cake - well 1/3 of it and the rest went in the bin with the cold chips. I have been short supplied an Asian salad once before at this store and when i phoned then to tell them they offered a free salad the next time I ordered - which I never bothered to follow up on. When I went to order I was we not advised that the wait time was going to be so long and several attempts of finding out how much longer I would have to wait we’re unsuccessful and resulted in being shut down by rude staff members (seems to be a recurring theme after reading some reviews). The last time I went up to ask if it was ready yet I was rudely told that it had been sitting there for 10 minutes although no one had called my name and after discovering that the food was lukewarm no staff member tried to fix the situation or even apologise. Definitely wouldn’t recommend unless you’re fine with waiting an hour for overpriced, average food. I do understand that Friday nights are extremely busy but personally I don’t think that it justifies an hour long wait for one burger. May I suggest that they need to expand their kitchen or hire more staff, anything that can fix the problem that lots of people have identified. Reading how this company responds to bad reviews almost turned me off writing this as I don’t feel like being berated with excuses that seem to never fault the actual shop?? I called up this evening and I was told 20 minutes at 7:03pm. When my mother got there at 7:10pm she paid for the food and was told it would be another 20 minutes. When she went to see how long it would be, she was told by a staff member and was told that it was extremely busy and that they were understaffed at 7:45pm. Another 15 minutes went by and still the grilled salmon and crumbled snapper and chips wasn’t ready so she left.
All in all, the staff there had at least 45 minutes to prepare the meal yet, it wasn’t even started when my mother got there. They prioritise the Uber Eats and Deliveroo meals even though I phoned in advance and was given an estimated time which they couldn’t stick to.
To be busy and understaffed is not an excuse, do not try to guilt us into feeling sympathetic. If you are understaffed... GET MORE STAFF IN!
We are never eating from there again, we always got our fish and chips there and almost always were we told to wait for our food EVEN THOUGH WE CALL IN ADVANCE.
This was the last straw, my mother was given a refund and we had a lovely Italian meal for very little more than the unreasonable price that the fish...
