I was at the restaurant today for lunch. We keep hoping the service will be better than the last time but yet again we were disappointed. We ordered 3 meals that came out promptly. I had the roast of the day that was quite cold when it arrived, about room temp. No one came by to check on the meals so there was nobody to tell. When the plates were cleared away we were asked how the meals were and I mentioned mine had not been warm. I was then told by server I should have told her as she walked off. This has happened before and sticking the meal in the microwave does not improve the roast beef. I then wanted to order a dessert but after waiting for some time, my husband went and ordered the apple crumble for me. 20 minutes later the older lady came by and questioned if we had ordered dessert and I said 'Yes, 20 minutes ago' we were getting ready to leave. She went to check I guess, didn't come back to tell us what was happening. About 7 minutes later dessert arrives. No apology. I took one spoonful of the apple crumble and it was cold - just out of the fridge cold. We then decided enough was enough and I took the apple crumble to the counter and to pay and leave. I told the older lady it was cold and I didn't want it. Her reply? 'I'll take it off the bill'. The younger lady who had been serving us, and took the order for the dessert, took it away. We then went to pay the bill and I said to the server. "You know, what you should be saying is sorry about the delay, sorry your dessert was cold, sorry you had to wait 25 minutes for a messed up dessert" but no, nothing. If staff don't know how to deal with issues that arise, or how to treat customers, customers aren't coming back. I know we won't after today

Read moreWe have been members here for years and the place looks great after the renovations. The atmosphere has also really picked up . Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant encounter on our last visit. On entry my partners card wouldn’t scan in,as it was cracked. Initially one of the entry counter staff was going to charge for a replacement, which was not a problem. However when the other counter staff member realised the card was broken rather than lost she kindly canceled the charge. She also apologised for the mistake .Very kind.Sadly this seems to have upset the other staff member . We went and ordered dinner and cocktails and were asked where we would like to sit. We chose a booth, which was fine with the staff. However a little later the lady from the front came and told us that our table was meant for a group. The wait staff had had no issue with our choice when they served our dinner, and there were plenty of large empty tables, so this was very confusing. However to keep the peace I said we would move if the table was needed. Well as soon as a group walked in the staff member came over and demanded we move. The group looked uncomfortable and apologised, however the staff member told them not to worry it was all arranged.
Not wanting to make a fuss, we moved to another table, which bizarrely seated more people than the booth. We let the bar staff know where we were now sitting ,as we had just ordered another cocktail. We had been about to order desert ( I was torn between the couples mouse, the chocolate mouse tart and the citrus tart which all looked divine ) but after the treatment we received we simply finished up and left. Formed in 1973, this services club has grown into a very good establishment for the local area & people visiting.
Yeronga Services Club has undergone a major building upgrade, making it more open for the members & visitors to move around with minimal fuss.
I think now that all the building upgrades have been completed, this Services Club will be able to offer the quality service that has been experienced over many years.
I was more than impressed with the staff at Reception, who made my wife & myself more than welcome.
We then ordered our lunch from the bar area of the club & again the staff were very friendly & courteous.
More than impressed with the pricing & our steak sandwich, which was prepared to perfection.
The Yeronga Services Club has an excellent menu selection that caters to everyone's needs & I also noted that there is a buffet that offers seafood, which is an added bonus 😀
The Sports Bar/TAB area is a comfortable place to relax & which live sporting events.
Toilet facilities are adequate, the one observation is does this club have facilities for people with disabilities when using the toilet facilities !
Adequate open air parking is available for everyone, including disability parking, which is within easy reach from the main entry point to the Yeronga Services Club.
The last observation that I think needs to be addressed is where to line up when ordering meals.
Being a visitor to the club, I found the signage since my last visit to be much improved. The new renovations have certainly been very well done 👏
