Since they have shifted to the shop, it’s not the same anymore. We were disappointed. This is on the basis of few visits to their shop. We have tasted saag from truck… it was incomparable but didn’t taste same anymore. Other dishes we have compared and tried are paav bhaji, malai chap, nutri kulcha, hotdog, masala chap. Only Masala chap was little edible. Rest all were way below average. Paav bhaji had colour in it, never seen before and the taste wasn’t the same. Malai chap had stale cream and tasted bad. Nutri had too much salt in it. Hotdog was served cold. I am sure these people still make bhaturas and kulchas in advance, probably same as they used to do in truck…in their kitchen elsewhere and not in shop as they weren’t fresh and were served as rolled in foil. They have gone from five star to one star. We were skeptical this would happen if they shift to shop…and sadly it happened. They were sooo good until they were in truck….

We recently visited this place with high expectations after hearing a lot of buzz on social media and from friends. However, to be honest, it lacked that authentic touch we were hoping for. We ordered vada pav, pav bhaji, papdi chaat, and soya chaap. Starting with the papdi chaat, it was genuinely authentic, tasted great, and the portion size was more than sufficient. However, the pav bhaji fell short—the bhaji lacked the tangy flavor it’s known for and was overly oily. The soya chaap had a similar issue, being excessively greasy. As for the vada pav, while it was crunchy, it missed the mark on authentic flavor. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and didn’t quite meet expectations.

We got so hungry waiting for our food at panda haus next door to arrive that we got some take out Pani puri for $8 and what a good decision that was! We ordered at 6:30pm and didn’t get mains until slightly after 8pm at that restaurant so if not for these Pani puris would have positively died of hunger! Pani puris were refreshing and appetising. The place was INCREDIBLY busy so I’d imagine it to be quite the busy spot but they’re really quick- you get a buzzer and it’s done in minutes despite how many people are constantly rolling up to order. Plenty of seating around as well with catchy Bollywood music. Atmosphere is delightful. Thank you for saving our Mother’s Day dinner!

My recent dining experience at Gr8 Indian Street Food Truck & Restaurant was one that can best be described as a mixed bag.

The special vada pav, seemed promising. As a Maharashtrian, my palate is well-acquainted with the authentic flavours. Instead of the subtle vada and pav that one might expect, the garnishing of North Indian-style was overbearing. As this was my maiden experience at Gr8 Indian Street Food, I can appreciate their unique take on the vada pav, but regrettably, it was not to my liking.

My heart sank further when I saw pav bhaji on the menu, a dish that's close to my heart, but I decided to give it a miss. Thankfully, the lassi we ordered was truly a delight and far removed from the overly sweetened mango lassis found elsewhere. The freshness of the food was there in every bite, a notable departure from some of the other Indian fast food eateries in Brisbane.

My expectations from Gr8 Indian Street Food, given its name, were of a wider variety of Indian street food from various states. However, my first visit did not entirely live up to these expectations.

I hope this review is taken in the spirit it is intended. I believe in constructive criticism and my intention is to provide feedback that can help the establishment improve. To conclude, although I may not revisit Gr8 Indian Street Food for its Maharashtrian cuisine, I would consider returning to sample other...

Gr8 Indian Restaurant has truly set the bar high with their exceptional and authentic Indian cuisine. We recently chose them to cater for our haldi ceremony, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. From the moment we started planning, the team at Gr8 Indian Restaurant was incredibly attentive and accommodating to our needs.

The food was an absolute highlight of our event. Each dish was bursting with rich, authentic flavors that transported us straight to India. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the delicious spread, and we received countless compliments throughout the ceremony. It was clear that the chef poured their heart into crafting each dish, ensuring everything was perfect.

The chef and staff went above and beyond to tailor the menu to our preferences and dietary requirements. Their professionalism and dedication truly shone through, making our special day even more memorable. We can’t thank the chef enough for their meticulous attention to detail and for delivering an unforgettable culinary experience.

Gr8 Indian Restaurant has left a lasting impression on us and our guests. We wholeheartedly recommend them for any occasion, big or small. They have earned our highest praise and gratitude for their outstanding service and...
