Grand Taj Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Brisbane City

This restaurant has some of the tastiest Indian i've had, I love Indian food and this is a place that offers different cuisine then others and I actually feel I wanna try these new curries, and they taste amazing. The food is awesome the only thing that brings it down a little is the service, its just a bit hapbazard, the tables feel too small for all the plates they give you. I will say my atmosphere rating won't apply for most visitors as I visited in the middle of the day both times I attended this venue. Which is a quite time. I felt the food really carried this place, I don't know if it translates to takeaway but it was really yum otherwise in person. I recommend whetting your palate with different and new flavours at this place, cause everything i've ate there is good, I haven't had any of the normal curries but I assume they're good as well as the more experimental sort. That's really the most of it....

Want to be upfront and say we did not eat here but my one star review (I feel) is warranted for the customer service alone. Called at 1:38pm today to ask what delivery prices were to my area (ordering for my daughter's birthday dinner as a takeaway of about 4 curries and a coupleof sides). The gentleman I spoke with told me delivery prices and said they could deliver today no later than 7pm. I advised I would call back after 5pm to open which he indicated he understoodm called back after 5pm to be told "we won't deliver tonight". Pretty disappointed but based off the low star reviews relating to customer service, unfortunately they have lived up to their reputation. I understand mistakes can happen but just wanted to post this to make people aware that they have some misinformation listed. Their pamphlet also says order online. You Lite rally cannot...

While the food was nice and quantity adequate, the service was not great. We started with our drinks order - 3 mango lassies and a ginger beer. We then ordered our food. The food came out but no drinks. We chatted and ate expecting the drinks to arrive. We ran out of water at the table and the waitress never came back until after we had nearly finished our entire meal so no opportunity to raise the lack of drinks and water.

A disappointing night as we paid the bill in full. Staff did apologise for the forgotten drinks, but irrespective the lack of drinks and water tainted the evening enough to say we will not return. Serving staff should monitor tabes, fill up water when completed and check to see the customer is happy during the meal. No offer of a discount...
