Wraphouse — Restaurant in Brisbane City

My first impression definitely gave me fast food suburban takeaway vibes and I was initially wary because I've been burned by small food places before. The sign was hard to look for as well so there was a bit of confusion getting there. (Just look for the led light sign just next to Feast of Fishes)

However, to my surprise, Gerry's far exceeded my expectations! We were met by the friendliest of ladies who graciously gave us a piece of wing each for our first visit, and complimented our dog!

That piece of wing was yummy. Forget the taste of disappointment at KFC, Gerry's southern fried wings has a better umami by far. I am definitely coming back for those alone.

We ordered a Texan loaded potato and a half rack of ribs. The loaded potato was good!! My partner was more than satisfied! (The texan taste was definitely there and it was generously smothered in sauce but Ii would have liked a little bit of spring onion!)

The ribs dropped off the bone, tender and flavorfully bbq. Loved it! It came with a beautiful serving of fries and coleslaw. Now I am a fries snob, tasteless soggy fries are my pet hate. I WAS NOT disappointed with these, the fries were beautifully crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside.

Best of all, the price is so reasonable!! Quality at this price level needs to be appreciated more!

Unfortunately our ride home mixed up the food so I didn't take a picture but suffice it to say that that trip was definitely worth it and I would recommend Gerry's for the southern fried chicken, ribs and chip loving afficionados...

Chicken game is solid. Tastes like KFC without the sad sogginess. I don't rate the tenders as I found them to be a bit dry but I also don't normally enjoy breast. The wings and regular pieces are excellent. The chips are also on point and are good enough to rival the stellar chips at the Treasury Casino; which are among the best I've had. They took feedback on from prior reviewers and now offer chicken salt.

The pizza is pretty good value for the price, though the crust could probably stand to be adjusted. It's not a thin crispy base, but also there isn't enough substance to retain any fluffiness. I've had better elsewhere. Then again, I don't really eat pizza all that often so what the hell do I know.

The front counter displays a range of Lick! icecream which is solid as a dessert option. My sister is already keen on revisiting to for all of the above.

I don't usually comment on this, but the staff were all jovial and happy to help. I hope they can pull through the existing and upcoming economic hardships. I would love to have them as an option going forward into the future. The fried chicken game in the area really has been elevated by their presence.

P.S. I've had it delivered as well and the chips actually hold up perfectly in the journey. I don't think I can say this of any...

Aug 2021 These guys now have ribs! My secret second weakness to wings. I brought a full rack. They were so tender and juicy. Fall off the bone. Lick your fingers clean BBQ sauce. Bones pulled clean and the amount of meat to devour was simply salivating. Came with crispy fresh hot chips and a little creamy salad that I think they could leave off the deal. Ribs and chips are just so on point it doesn't need it!

Service always wonderfully friendly and inviting.

Found my wing shop. Hot Crunchy not oily. Moist. Perfectly cooked. And a buck each.. Daaaaaamn. I'm actually a little excited and nervous for my waist line. Lol

Service was great. Lovely lady took my order. Even brought it out to me with a smile. (Its a small shop so respect social distancing yeah. Chill outside, they have tables). A little wait but, it was dinner time and there is a line. Get in it. Just think how fresh your dinner will be.

Bird is the word. Spread the good wing news.

I've been a few times now and not just me but friends too. Have to give 5 star. Cant fault em. From service to food to tidy little shop. Its the perfect 'local' shop. Geez I...
