I came with a group of 3 over the weekend for lunch. The place is nice and clean. Staff were generally friendly. Slightly disappointed with the grilled squid as it seemed quite small. Portions were on the small side. The bowl of rice was probably somewhere between 1/2 to 2/3 of what you would get from other Japanese restaurants. Perhaps it was because I was ordering from the lunch special menu that portions were a bit smaller. Even then, I'm not a big eater and I wasn't quite full despite an entre (normal price) and lunch special combined. Food quality is good. Fresh sashimi. Price-wise is probably leaning more to the pricey side. I can think of other Japanese restaurants that offer better value for money (not necessarily cheaper, just better value). Parking appeared plentiful but there were a lot of 10 minute parking bays despite the village where the restaurant was located was half-closed. It's worth a visit. I might visit again for their full menu and make my final decision then.

Our first visit to this restaurant. We came in at 6:40pm. We had to park next door as there were none available. Parking is pretty bad. Then service, is slow and worst the wait. You actually need to go to the counter to get serve or you will not be served at all. I noticed pretty expensive place to eat but is it worth it? Not the case. I've had better food and service. We ordered takoyaki and edamame for entree. The Bento box where $38.00 each. We had the bento salmon and bulgogi dinner boxes. It's pretty obvious they are under staff. Because we have been here nearly 30 minutes we still haven't got our entree. Our entree finally arrived at 7:35pm. The takoyaki was pretty ordinary. We received the mains at 7:41pm. Well the servings of the dinners boxes were quite big. The beef was quite tender, sushi was made from fresh ingredients. The salmon was perfectly grilled and seasoned. The dinner was one of the best Bento box I've ever had. So overall, it can be improved.

Cannot comment on the service or atmosphere as we had delivery (my partner ordered), but my goodness the food was not good. “Agedashi tofu” arrived as some pieces of soggy deep fried tofu suspended in some kind of bland soup concoction, with gelatinised tempura batter floating in clumps of goop. The yaki noodles were fine I guess but also bland. the katsudon was also a soupy bland mess of what tasted like a watered down teriyaki sauce with rice and soggy, fibrous remicrowaved chicken. pretty much the worst Japanese food we’ve ever had. Everything tasted bland, watery, soggy and not as it should. maybe the kitchen staff walked out and a hapless waiter was left trying to fulfill the order. Incomprehensible. We had to toss it all as it was so unpleasant, and order again from elsewhere. Perhaps send the dashi in a separate container from the tofu, for starters. We couldn’t distinguish it from the miso soup!
