Little Sparrow - Indooroopilly — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Very poor service and drink quality (first order) for what I paid, nearly $8 for iced coffee. Yesterday sunday 18th of Feb early afternoon I ordered an iced-coffee (with ice-cream option) and took a seat. They were not too busy but waited for about 15 minutes as i assumed they delivered the drinks as they were doing it to others around me. No coffee came so went to service counter area and had to ask for it. They had just left it sitting there, although it was a full service cafe. finally drank and found there was no taste and creaminess of the ice-cream. went back to counter and the service boy who had initially taken my order said he had added ice-cream, and that it probably melted as they had left it sitting in the counter - no shame that they left it just sitting there for so long. i countered that no taste or u didnt add enough ice-cream?. went on for couple of minutes until the barista girl reluctantly said we can remake it. again 10 minutes later i go back to counter near the barista and find a cold drink just sitting there. i called out to her to check it drink was mine. she pretended that she didnt hear me for a minute, until i had to speak louder....then she finally answered that yes it is mine. Did not have courtesy to serve me both times ... the drink was fine this time. there was actually some ice cream taste in it. but the service of the 2 people left me sour. i dont know their names but they were young. The barrista was a blond young girl and serving staff was a young asian boy. Leaving a description of them so the manager can teach them...

I ordered before 230 pm, was told that the coffee and food can only be in the takeaway, I’m fine with it. And told the lady( also the barista) that I also have another 2 of the families will come, will they still able to order ? She said yes but will be in the takeaway, which’s also fine. After ordering the girl didn’t give a number so I pointed to the seats saying my partner and baby are sitting over there, she said I will need to just wait at the counter for the food and coffee,I need to go to feed my baby so I didn’t say much, but my families ordered later and they got number and everything on the plates , and all the other white customers ordered after me they all get the service, I got the coffees not long but the food take a while so I continued to feed my baby, no one has addressed that the food was ready, so when I have the time to check , it’s a bit cold. I paid all the money without any service!!!! I’m the only Asian in the families, that’s the only reason I can think of why I got treated differently when ordered separately at different time and different order, can someone explains to me why before 230pm I was told and got everything in takeaway and others ordered after me got the service? She didn’t even ask for a name for the order and just leave my food sitting there cold! I have been to this cafe so many times , I love it so took my families there, this time so disappointed! And this’s the first time I give a review, I never complain but will had to...

This is a perfect example of expectations exceeding delivery and the inevitable dissatisfaction. The location is premium as is the presentation and decor.

After that what we got was like a coffee shop in a small country town.

Only 80 per cent full but they ran out of real cups and had to serve us with paper cups.

Two meals arrived and cooled down by the time the sandwich arrived.

The meals were OK, but sadly presented. For example the cheese was a slice of pre-packaged cheese slices. OK for a school tuckshop perhaps but not an adult dining.

Staff were very good. Friendly and efficient. And it was great to see that when the tables were cleaned, so were the chairs.

But the Barista not so good. I ordered lactose free coffee. It was brought to the table and presented as lactose free. It wasn't, and was the only possible cause of my allergic reaction.

After an out of stomach experience at the Indro public toilets, our shopping trip was cut short, and I'm now spending the afternoon in the bathroom at home.

This is the second time a lazy barista couldn't be bothered to deliver what I paid for. Your 20 seconds of laziness cost me a whole day of grief.

Bottom line (pun) don't bother going to Little Sparrow and esp dont be foooled by the locationand decor. There are so many better...
