Michael's Pizza — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I have been coming to Michael’s Pizza for 15+ years. Cannot question the quality and taste of the pizzas, however tonight was the first time I had to bring a pizza back due to a topping removal request not being fulfilled. I called the restaurant after eating a slice and asked if a replacement pizza could be made as the topping was still put on the pizza. Was told on the phone they would make another however to bring the pizza in. Went in store to replace pizza when the owner, questioned where the topping was. When looking through the pizza I was told the topping in question was just a mushroom. I let the owner know that I may not be able to visually see the topping I could definitely taste it as it is a flavour that can’t be missed. Owner put his fingers through the pizza searching. With the statement of “well I can’t see it” quite rudely. I stated again that I could taste the topping and would like a new pizza or a refund. The owner stated he had made another pizza and I’d have to wait quite rudely. When my pizza was ready he quite rudely pointed to me and said “you, your pizza” and walked away.

I thanked him for the replacement but I question why he thought I was wasting his time and mine. I could understand the frustration of having to remake a pizza but I think if the same scenario happened at any other pizza shop, a replacement pizza would have been made and no questions asked or the pizza taken under scrutinising inspection and accusations of it not being present when it could be clearly tasted due to its distinct flavour.

This has questioned my long standing patronage to the restaurant. Over the last few years the service from the staff has unfortunately declined. Rude on the phone, rude in person and little care for building customer relations. Great pizzas but...

We ordered 3 pizzas of Large size (12" according to the menu) and get home to find all 3 are smaller than expected and visibly so. They are all 10" which is the Small size, even gave them the benefit of the doubt and measured the longest diagonals. Called up to advise of the mistake and get the size we ordered but the man in the shop repeatedly claims that these are large. A small pizza cut into 8 slices does not make a large 😡

Edit: You can get the same size, toppings, and quality for half the price at Domino's. Yet this place wants $22 each for 10"? What a rip-off...

We were walk-ins, no other customers in the shop, and he barely even spoke 2 words while we were there. Not even a "hello". He constantly argued from the get go when I called up about the size. It's pretty clear that the Owner/manager guy couldn't care less about his customers. Check out the other reviews about the service "quality".

Maybe a couple years ago this place was good, now your money is better off...

My wife and I made an impromptu stop at Michael’s and found the staff here very polite, professional, friendly and engaging. We ordered the Fettuccine Boscaiola, a Traditional Lasagne and a Calzone Supreme (to take away), washed down with a soft drink each. We sat at a table-for-two near the front door where we took in the lovely breeze flowing through. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed which made the experience even more enjoyable.

When the meals came out the aroma made you salivate and they were delicious. There was not a scrap left and the plates were quickly and unobtrusively taken away. We were so impressed with the whole experience, particularly the meals, that we decided immediately that we would be back soon.
