Myself, hubby and a friend had lunch here on a recent Saturday. Staff were lovely, food came promptly and we enjoyed the breezy deck where we sat. The cafe is in a cute old Queenslander (I think) and has a very cosy, welcoming atmosphere. We all enjoyed our meals. Hubby had the Bulgogi burger and chips (great chips!); he was surprised that the beef was in strips rather than a pattie but really loved it. The friend had toast and poached eggs; she said the eggs were fabulous and the toast was the best! I had potato hash Benedict, with poached eggs and smoked salmon. The hash browns were wonderful (seemed to be 'real' rather than those oblong ones out of the freezer), and the eggs were runny just how I like 'em. I wasn't such a fan of the very sweet caramelised onion, as I felt that detracted from the dish for me. And I do like my salmon to be very thin (a textural thing) so I found this to be a bit too thick (and not very smoked?) for me. But we all loved our meals, and the staff and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back! Oh the drinks - mixed berry smoothies and a pineapple/mint frappe. Delicious! Best frappe ever - cold, fruity and minty...

Went here for breakfast today - been here before and it was ok .. so thought we would give it another go ..the advertised raisin, apricot, fig and hazelnut toast… well what apricot?? No fig and no sign of the hazelnuts … just a couple of raisins but that was it.. and was barely toasted... it was very chewy as well and we were trying to figure out why the bread was sooooo gluey and chewy.. and the hot chocolate was dreadful, they must of sprinkled the chocolate powder over the luke warm cup of milk ..the coffee was terrible too. Not too long after we made our order the place was filling up otherwise I would have sent it back but because we could see the staff were very disorganised and they tried serving us some else’s coffee not once …but twice… we figured we would just eat and go. We paid and I did mention about the toast etc but it landed on deaf ears and we weren’t offered any compensation.. it’s the principle anyway.

If you no longer have a product .. you need to inform the customer .. so they can have the opportunity to change their order.

The cafe is in a lovely hub of Camp Hill but that is its only asset..

Overall was very...

Today we tried out a new place in Coorparoo/Camp Hill area - @thekelseycafe 🤩 . Very busy when we arrived, this place has both indoor and outdoor seating (on the deck). Order at the counter when you're ready and they gradually bring food/drinks out 👍🏼 . We ordered: • Zucchini and corn waffle fritter with mushrooms • Cheese potato croquette Benedict with avo • Cheese potato croquette Benedict with smoked salmon • Korean Fried Chicken 👌🏼 . My waffle fritter was really yummy, with pickled beetroot bits, sliced cherry tomatoes, grilled halloumi, poached egg and lotus root chips. It all just kinda compliments each other and tastes great 🤤 . Wifey and Dad-in-law got the Croquette Benedict. As it comes out it looks deceivingly small but it's actually quite big. The cheesiness and creamy potato filling was great and both were super satisfied with how filling it was! 🤩 . We totally over ordered but the Korean chicken was worth it! Super crispy and comes served with loads of sauce on top. 🤤🤤🤩🤩 . Very enjoyable first experience here, still be back to try other...

The service was outstanding, especially with the elderly couple at the next table where cushions were provided without prompting. There was so much patience demonstrated when guiding them to their table and speaking to them at a slower pace. The staff were also discreet when using the electric swatted on the flies that had escaped indoors. The latte art might be a work in progress but this was a minor point because the coffee was made well. Similarly, the Pineapple Mint Frappe was on point. It was sweet, had hints of sour and, most importantly, was refreshing for a hot day. In terms of food, the Pancakes maintained balance of the various sweet elements, including the Nutella, caramel glaze, ice cream and, fruits. Meanwhile, the Potato Hash Benedict appeared small but was unexpectedly filling. With smoked salmon, this could be described as a light dish that did not leave a feeling of heaviness often left by fried foods. The food could not be faulted. Overall, a first time visitor here may find that they become a regular quickly.
