Vito’s Cucina & Bar Ascot — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I was quite disappointed today. I’ve been here before and never had issues with the service or the food. Today was quite different.

Decided to bring my parents for Fathers days. There was 6 of us and we all ordered a main and drinks. I went up to order and the lady read it back to me and yep it was all there. Paid and went and sat down.

Drinks came out super quick , but after 45 minutes we had to ask for our food. The table next to us, arrived at least 20 mins after us and they receive their meals rather quick.

The first 3 dishes arrived. One was cold and it looked like it had been sitting there for a little bit.

Second two dishes arrived. My dish never came.

After asking again that we were waiting , they came back showed us the docket and said “you didn’t order anything else”

Sorry what ? Umm yes we did .,. We ordered 6 meals and 6 drinks. She read it back to me.

They offered To make it but by that stage I was quite annoyed so refused and went to the bakery instead.

Upon getting home , my mother was actually sick in the toilet ...

Disappointed. Very very disappointed. I think it will be awhile before...

Ordered the Corn fritter dish- but just asked for ONE and to replace the egg with a potato rosti. The owner talked me into getting all the corn fritters said they were very small. Paid $20 for this meal. Well the corn fritters were deep fried balls of grease and raw in the middle. I ate ONE. Second photo is where I cut it open to see if the second one was also raw - which it was. Waste of money and annoyed that I got talked into ordering more that I wanted. I have eaten some potato rosti's in my time and this was false advertising as it was a deep fried very greasy potato scallop which I couldn't even bring myself to eat. I moved the sprouts aside and as I pushed through wth my knife grease just covered it - so I wasn't putting that into my body. If I wanted deep fried food I would have gone to KFC. Tried to soak up the grease of the first corn fritter with some of the wilted spinach - only to find that that too was covered in oil. Walked away feeling very queasy. ...

This place is one of the best cafes around.

Fast service, great food, friendly atmosphere!

I'd give it 5 stars but on four different occasions over a three month period, I've had the displeasure of being served by one particular waitress who clearly doesn't want to be there.

The last interaction I had with the waitress was on 23/10 at around 12:30-13:00pm. She was working the counter and her attitude came across as blunt and her interactions were cold. Any interaction I've had with this individual feels like I'm bothering her for doing her job. My friend also experienced a negative interaction the same day as well.

Unfortunately the staff don't wear name tags but I hope management might take this feedback on board and take appropriate action going forward with...
