I ordered The Peking Duck on the phone at 5pm. And when I was there I ordered the first option of Peking duck: duck soup. But was told by the staff that I was not a loyal customer so they can't cook duck soup for me. I also heard the chef yelling in the kitchen that he could not make duck soup!!! Nice place. Nice staff. They have a lot of takeaway orders coming in with only 2 staff members managing diners and takeaway orders, so be willing to wait if you dine here over peak meal times. The food is nice, but the eggplant dish was much sweeter than it should be. It had 2 chilli's 🌶 🌶 beside the dish, but there was no spice, just sweet and sour flavours. The wine list was surprisingly well selected with wines like stargazer Riesling from TAS, Palliser estate pinot noir from martinborough. Can’t fault this place. I was very excited to see them open. Authentic Chinese food in the north side.

Unfortunately it’s in an old school area who are accustomed to Australian take on Chinese food (which is canton inspired), so I feel it’s under appreciated. They’ve adjusted the menu accordingly in some places, but obviously not to the liking of some local folks.
