What a great place to dine, food is awesome and the coffee is outstanding. Only downside is the place closes at 2pm which seems a little early to me. Saff are some of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met and will bend over backwards to do anything to make you dinning more enjoyable.
I find it very hard to believe the pregnant lady (lucy) giving the bad score got poor service. The fact of the matter is there is no evidence to say that pregnant women should not eat raw eggs, the so called risk is salmonella which BTW can't cross the placenta and affect the baby to begin with. The risk is far higher using your hands to eat ANYTHING than it is to eat a runny egg, did you wash your hands between getting out of the car and starting your meal??? The old salmonella and raw/runny eggs comes from the start of the 1980's and is an old wives tale and has no factual or scientific proof to suggest in anyway it is a risk and was started in England after salmonella was found in a packing plants machinery (and not on or in the eggs). I would hazard a guess and say it was far more likely to be a hormonal thing on her side than any poor service from the Saabi staff.

Read moreA few months back I moved into the neighbourhood that surrounds this popular coffee shop. Manager Andrew and his staff do a fine and consistent job of coffee, tea and food.Staff are pleasant and give confident , accurate service.
I have enjoyed delightful coffee: black and latte style, delicious chai leaf tea from a pot, eggs and bacon, and my absolute favourite the roasted garlic mushrooms with lemon ricotta on sour dough. I recently shared one of their breakfast muffins and scones. Delicious!
I've mentioned that it's popular so at times there may be a bit of a wait but there is a relaxed atmosphere here. You can sit on the verandah with the neighbourhood dog walkers, inside or in the rear garden. There's even a pleasant side area facing the street with shelter, seating and water for the dogs. It's nice for a quiet breakfast lunch and on busy weekend mornings can have the feel of a spontaneous...
Read moreI often enjoyed going to Sabi but unfortunately the last time I went I was treated so poorly I have never returned. After asking for hard eggs because I was pregnant at the time the eggs came out runny. I kindly ask just for them to be cooked a little longer. Such a fuss was made on their part ,'what do you mean ! aren't these good enough ' obviously making me aware it was a problem. They then brought them back and said here is this good enough now. They were still runny and hadn't attempted to re cook at all. I said it's fine i just won't eat the egg. The manager them tried to grab the plate off me food almost went everywhere then told me 'so and so in the kitchen has had two kids, these eggs, she said you could eat them" in a not so nice tone! I now enjoy the Racing cafe just...
