Manager had an attitude and was lacking customer service skills as well as problem solving skills. We booked bubbles and sea view table as it was our anniversary, we didn’t get sea views and it took 20 minutes for someone to serve us and give us our bubbles (because we were sat at the back in the corner we couldn’t see the waiters to get their attention). It was clear they did not read the booking request as we had to tell them what we booked. The manager made poor excuses as to why we didn’t get our request, and his best offer was to sit us outside when it was a very cold, windy evening and nobody was outside. He also pointed out the other customers had booked months in advance that’s why they have tables by the window which was, A not true (because there was a lot of times available for dinner on the booking site) and B an unnecessary comment which made us feel less important than other customers. The manager also did not understand that the Bubble and Seaview option shouldn’t be an option on the booking site if it’s not available which according to his excuse it’s been booked months in advance by other customers. On top of all that the food was average Malay chicken was bland and risotto was hidden by mountain of fish fillet. We couldn’t work out if we were ignored because we raised an issue or it was just very slow service, we arrived around 6.40 our order was taken at 7.15. When we left the manager had the audacity to ask how our evening went when he clearly knew we weren’t happy. We then again explained why we didn’t have a good evening and all he could say was that he’s sorry that we didn’t have a good experience in their establishment but he clearly didn’t care and still clearly didn’t understand, there was no offer of fixing the issue (a simple yes I understand the problem and next time I will get our team to take away that option on the booking site when it is no longer available, would suffice) or enticing us back again with a caring, friendly attitude. The waiter Douglas had better understanding was more sympathetic he offered us some complementary tartlets for dessert but we just wanted to leave and go somewhere else to enjoy our anniversary. Bubbles was nice but definitely won’t go back...

I would leave zero stars if I could. I had a 5-course truffle dinner with my friends, and it was my worst dining experience ever. Even though the star ingredient was truffles, only the last course, the dessert, was I able to taste truffles. I was especially shocked at one of the courses. It stated veal in the menu but what I was served was a piece of cold cut that had absolutely no flavor. It was also dressed with a sauce that tasted store bought. The portion sizes could also have been more generous. As I did not want to ruin an otherwise fun night with my friends, I decided to only provide more thorough feedback the next day. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager of the restaurant. During our conversation, he highlighted that he always receives good feedback and that I was a terrible customer. Without doubt, I was taken aback by his response as I thought I was being genuine in my feedback, and showed no malice. Such a shame that a supposedly popular restaurant in such a great location was unable to accept a customer’s feedback gracefully. Unfortunately, I will not patronize this restaurant again and I do not recommend dining in...

Living overseas, a lot of people would ask me what's Australian cuisine. I really couldn't tell them an answer. We're a mishmash of everything and everybody who had been living in our shores that you can't pin down what actually do we own as Australian food. Barbeque? C'mon every country has their own barbeque. Some arguably better than barbeque in Australia. I'd say that Odyssea comes close to what we have as a representation of Australian food.

When they ask me if I eat kangaroos I'd say not often, and admittedly it's hard to find kangaroo meat in a normal restaurant. This place has got it though and it's a bit of a banger just quietly. I've had kangaroo pie, kangaroo burger but not roo steak and I won't hesitate to order it again. I tried the fish and that was also pretty good. The potatoes to share are as addictive as watching Instagram reels in the middle of the night, highly recommend.

Coffee could be a little better, but it honestly tastes like most coffee places in town meaning that it tastes like milk. But you're not here for the coffee are you? You're here for the views. The view of the beach on a sunny day is...

Had such a good tonight here! Managed to get a table right in the middle of dinner rush for two which was very lucky & we’re very glad we tried. We were met at the till by Dan, who was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. Dan also served us some drinks throughout the night, being very observant to note when our wine glasses were getting low & offering a top up :) We were also served by Connor, who was very knowledgeable in the wine selection and helped my friend get a glass of moscato that we didn’t see listed on the menu & informed us of the menu changes for that night. We ordered our food with Martin, who was excellent as well. Overall amazing service! Food was great, we only ordered some appetisers and drinks but the appetisers were worth every cent. I had the tuna and my friend ordered the wagyu - both were delicious and well worth the money! I tried the lemon meringue martini which was literally the best cocktail I’ve ever had. We didn’t stay for very long, but for the time we stayed we felt very welcomed & had an excellent time. Please pass your thanks on to the staff mentioned & the chef for our amazing food :)

Five different plates of food saw 5 different qualities. The goat curd salad was tasty, or would have been, without the pickled carrots. These carrots were so unbelievably vinegary that they completely over powered entire dish. Without the carrots the dish was really quite tasty. Likewise the mozzarella dish. The salad was so completely drenched in vinegar dressing that my taste buds were burnt, and vinegar sweats burst out on my cheeks. Again, without the dressing the meal was delicious. The best plate was the Fremantle octopus; so tasty and easy to eat. They had such a delicious, burnt, curry flavour, which combined with the potatoes made for a delicious plate of food. The kids lunch of 3 tortillas with cheese and avocado cream was, in the words of my 9 year-old, "not even toasted, daddy". The cheese hadn't been melted even though the flat tacos were crisply toasted. Overall the restaurant has much potential. My wife said that it was as if a chef had shown the staff how to cook the meals, left, and the staff were trying to copy the food. Maybe the kitchen would benefit from tasting the food before sending it out.
