Some nights flow so perfectly that each part feels like it’s leading toward something greater. Tonight was one of those.
I had been to the gym earlier, and every rep, every set carried weight beyond the bar itself. Each lift felt purposeful, building not just strength but momentum for the night. Afterwards came the release — a shit that left me lighter, freer, and strangely euphoric, like the last piece clicking into place. Then I hopped on my e-bike and rode through the cold streets, eyes watering, hands stiff, yet spirit lifted. Everything was stacking together: the gym, the ride, the clarity — all of it pointed toward a single thought.
“What could turn this good night into a great one?” The answer came instantly: a gift from the golden arches. No — a gift from the gods of the golden arches. Fries golden and salted, a burger hot and steaming, a Coke fizzing like victory. The glowing arches in the distance weren’t just signage — they were a beacon, a lighthouse promising comfort.
But when I arrived, I was refused. Not because the kitchen was closed. Not because food wasn’t available. But because I was on an e-bike. The car beside me was served without hesitation, while I sat there shivering, treated as if I didn’t matter.
Determined, I rode home, placed an order on the MyMacca’s app, paid in advance, and returned. This time, I thought, surely they’d hand me the food. I even tried to make it easy: I told them I didn’t need to be served at the window, I’d wait in a bay, and they could walk it out. But instead of reason, I was met with hesitation, delay, and finally dismissal. The worker wasted my time before telling me no. The manager ignored me outright, choosing to make coffee for the car behind me rather than acknowledge my presence.
Standing there in the freezing night, ignored and humiliated, I felt worthless. Not because of the food itself, but because of the treatment. A brand that prides itself on being “open 24 hours” had shown that its promise is hollow.
What made it sting more was the inconsistency. Only a month or two earlier, at the very same store, I had been served on my e-bike at 4 or 5am without issue. That meal carried me into the day with energy and satisfaction. Tonight, I was denied the same courtesy, left out in the cold.
This was not about safety. It was not about policy. It was about laziness, arrogance, and the collapse of customer care.
If “24 hours” doesn’t mean 24 hours for everyone, then take the signs down. Stop misleading customers with promises you don’t honour. The golden arches above me still shone that night, but they no longer represented comfort. They...
Read moreHi, I just received my order which we ordered through McDonald’s Clarkson on Uber Eats, which I don’t do very often as it’s getting expensive. We had my daughters 21st and thought we would end the night with McDonald’s. So disappointing...firstly the Big Mac I had myself had so much Big Mac sauce on it,it wasn’t enjoyable to eat,it was messy and made it soggy,I have left over half of the burger. The quarter pounder my daughter ordered was very dry, it looked, felt and tasted like it has been sitting in the heat for ages. The burger has no mustard or onions in the burger even though it’s meant to come with it. We ordered and paid for extra pickles and there was only one pickle which u get anyway. We did not receive the hamburger, strawberry milk shake, water and 2 sauces for our nuggets. We paid for a strawberry milkshake which we did not get, instead we were given a frozen coke, and didn’t get told why we didn’t get our original drink or asked what alternative we would prefer… we received an Apple juice instead of a water and we didn’t get any sauces for the nuggets so had to eat them dry by themselves. We know it’s not the uber drivers fault,he just delivers,I wouldn’t imagine at early hours of the morning the restaurant would be busy,so I’m not sure what the excuse would be for so many things wrong in our order, but after having a good night for my daughters bday,it has put a real damper on it. I’ve sent this straight away ,as there isn’t anything the uber driver can do,he did his job and delivered what he thought was our completed order, the male himself was polite. I complained on the maccas app twice and the uber eats app but if there is anywhere else sense I need to complain to anywhere else please let me...
Read moreWent through drive-through. I always order the same burger minus the sauces. Usually, I check it before leaving. I could see the ticket on the box stating - no sauces, so I assumed it was correct. Got home & didnt look inside the order. Took a full bite of a burger - it tasted funny, pulled it from my face, but saw no sauce, I took another bite & immediately tasted sauce. Checked the 2nd burger, it also had sauce despite the ticket stuck in that saying - no sauce. So I drove back & returned it. Girl at window was really nice & commented on the fact it had the ticket stating no sauce yet I got sauce. I drove up to the next window- to hear a manager look in the box with a scowl on her face & say loudly- "She has just about eaten half of this, there's about 3 bites gone, I suppose she wants a replacement does she"- it kinda shocked me, it was quite rude. It was made to sound like I had left just a scrap in there but only 2 bites were gone - I don't like the sauce & like it was $45 burger. I saw 2 workers turn to look at me like- Who? Her?. So I called out -" I didn't realise it had sauce on it until the 2nd bite.". & wondered what the fuss was about. I had paid for 2 burgers I couldn't eat & driven home & had to return. I wasn't happy. Then a lovely tall Sudanese (?) Man came & closed the open slide window, so I couldn't hear them anymore & gave me my 2 replacement burgers & was very pleasant. These 2 burgers were nice. It wasn't a nice experience for 2 simple burgers & the only time it's happened...
