Food was absolutely stunning. We had the Japanese style oysters, swordfish special and the seafood chowder. Seafood was super fresh and really good. I only eat delicious high quality seafood due to my Asian heritage and decades of fishing knowledge, and I don't really like frozen fish or fish and chips or other basic seafoods, so I generally avoid western style seafood. But I can tell this seafood was really top notch and it was the day's catch and the flavours goes so well together. I'm so glad we tried this place! The scallop in the chowder was so delicious, the best I've had. I was worried the chowder would be too creamy but it was really good. The bread goes so well with the dish. Needs a lot of pepper but maybe that's just me 🙊 My husband said the swordfish special was really good, the potatoes and salsa on the fish were perfect, and it was super filling even though the dish looks small. The oysters were absolutely deliciousss. I wish I could have had more but I'm not supposed to be eating raw seafood because I'm pregnant 😭. I really love oysters and these were 5-star quality and worth every dollar. The drinks were great too. I think the mocktail is overpriced because it was really basic flavours, though still good. It would be better in a larger portion for its price. My husband loved the martini and the cider. The staff are super friendly and attentive, and served us with a big smile. The restaurant was really busy but staff were very good. I booked online and asked for good seats and they delivered. I'm really happy with the service. Even though it is pricey, the high quality food with 5star service is worth it. I didn't get to try the dessert because I was too full but I will definitely be coming back for more oysters and to try the dessert next time. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here at Latitude 30. If you're contemplating if you should try this restaurant, this is your sign!! You won't be...
Read moreTo say the night and dinner overall was a ‘disappointment’ is probably an understatement. Upon being greeted and told our table was over by the window, the waitress turned and walked away leaving us to walk through the restaurant and seat ourselves. Halfway through still eating our entrees the same waitress came out and said ‘I didn’t put a line between the entrees and mains, your mains are ready now, is it ok if I bring them out?’ Sitting there dumbfounded that this would even happen, we replied No, we’re still eating our entrees. ‘Well the mains are in the kitchen ready and going cold’. The mains were then bought out to the table. Surely if the waitress is too dumb to “put a line to seperate the meals” the kitchen staff should know the difference between entrees and mains and either check with the waitress if we wanted everything together or wait till the entrees are cleared before even starting to cook the mains. The mixed oysters for entree were nice and that's were it ended. At $310 for the seafood platter, was an absolute joke, with 4 bugs, dozen oyster natural, dozen prawns and ceviche plus the lobster mornay which was barely warm, guessing as it’d been sitting in the kitchen as was cooked too early, there was no other hot seafood, no chips, no fruit. 2 more drinks were ordered, after they hadn’t arrived within 30 mins, went to the bar and asked to be told ‘there was no order’. At this point we’d finished eating and decided not to worry about these 2 drinks, 10 mins later as we were about to leave the drinks were bought to the table. When making the booking online, a comment was put in the notes that it was a ‘birthday dinner’, not once did any staff pass comment about the birthday or even ask who’s birthday it was. At a cost of $658 for 4 people, I certainly would expect that the service and food to...
Read moreSo I’m visiting Coffs Harbour for the long weekend with my two children. Thought I’d treat them to what I thought was a nice restaurant. Firstly the nice part in this equation relates simply to location. Which is beautiful over looking the Coffs Harbour and Marina. Upon entry the Maître’d, she was polite (enough initially) but as myself and my two children didn’t have a booking she bluntly asked if we’d be gone within an hour. Well brushing this aside we sat down and ordered our meals the waiter and wateriest were pleasant and friendly. However the food was horrific. I ordered eye fillet steak costing a small fortune. And I wish I’d said to the Maître’d that there’d be no worries about us staying for no more than an hour after tasting the food that I wouldn’t even feed to my dog because after tucking into what looked like something that could be delicious was outright awful. The meat was tough and stringy and the garlic butter they’d smothered it in ruined it. Then there were the “chips” which were supposed to be steak chips. Undercooked and drenched in this unknown green drizzle which was foul to the senses especially the smell and taste ones, which really are quite important. On conclusion I would rate a zero overall aside from the 2 out of 3 pleasant restaurant staff. Very disappointing especially when we were there for less than 45 minutes and the entire experience cost circa $175 for a single dad on vacation with his 7 year old son and 11 year old daughter. Extremely disappointing. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day in this restaurant. I can’t believe it’s still in business. Clearly the people that eat there don’t have taste buds and have lost their sense of smell. Buy a tin of dog food and a can opener instead would be a lot cheaper (and...
