APPALING BAR SERVICE - If I could rate this a zero, I would. My partner and I who are regulars and members of the Yacht Club attempted to enjoy lunch yesterday around 12pm. I ordered food from the lovely restaurant staff and then a bottle of wine from the bar. Unfortunately, this is when it all turned sour! I asked for a bottle of the House Chardonnay as we always do. After pouring a glass we both realised that it wasn’t the usual wine and it tasted off! We had been given the expensive French Chardonnay without explanation. I tried to explain to the short thin women with long brown hair that we had been given the wrong bottle. She then found another bottle of Chardonnay but wanted us to pay for the price of the Sav Blanc which was $6 more expensive than the French Chardonnay. I highlighted that it was Chardonnay not Sav Blanc but clearly, she struggled to know the difference even though it was written on the bottle? The women than refused to return the existing bottle that we didn’t ask for and expected us to pay again for another bottle. It appeared that getting back to eating her lunch behind the bar was more important!! Unfortunately for the restaurant I cancelled our meals on principal because I wasn’t prepared to pay for another bottle of wine. We recently recommended our family and friends who were visiting over the Xmas period to eat at the Yacht Club. I will never recommend this place again due the appalling attitude of the bar staff which is bad for the restaurant as they do amazing...
Read moreOn a recent business trip up from the Central Coast, we stumbled across the Yacht Club and discovered your Breakwall Café and Restaurant. Our visit coincided with a family reunion, and we had originally booked an outdoor setting, hoping the weather would cooperate. However, Mother Nature had other plans, and the sky opened up just before we arrived. Despite the rain, our spirits lifted the moment we stepped through the door. We were warmly greeted by a friendly lady with a big smile, who immediately directed us to a beautifully set table indoors, right by a window. The thoughtful staff made us feel welcome from the start, cracking a few jokes and creating a relaxed atmosphere. The food selection was fantastic, with a variety of dishes that left us eager to try something new. We particularly appreciated the specials—just what you hope to find when dining somewhere unique. Overall, we had an excellent evening, enjoying both the delicious food and the lovely company of your team. We left Breakwall Café and Restaurant feeling great, and we’ll...
