Crown Hotel Bar & Restaurant we visited twice during our weekend stay. Friday night dinner was good, all of our guests enjoyed their meals but disappointed that they had run out of pork belly. I ordered the filet Mignon and it was very tasty with a nice sauce, fresh steamed veg and dauphinois potatoes. It was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. We visited again at Sunday lunchtime and it was very busy inside as well as lots of people in the beer garden. We were warned that it might be a long wait for our meal orders. The prawn pizza was thin and crispy, very hot and tasty. Our friends ordered garlic cheesy bread and fries and they were very happy. Drinks orders were good but the young bar staff didn’t know how to prepare a shandy, eg the beer should always be poured first. Instead they filled the glass 3/4 full with lemonade and the rest beer which is a very expensive shandy as you’re paying for a drink which was mostly lemonade, so that was a bit of a con, we feel. Otherwise it was...
Read moreWent to have a dinner date with my son may I say he is autistic we were one of the first people in before there dinner rush two other tables got severed before us. We waited 40 minutes for a kids pop corn chicken and a entree of pork belly bites. May I say the kids meals are $16 the most expensive kids meals I have came across. There were no chicken nuggets only popcorn chicken so thats what he wanted. the popcorn chicken came out looking like fish bits or big chuncks of squid was not nice to look at so for $16 he had a mini handful of chips. I did go up and have a nice chat to the lady. maybe if I was offered a refund for the kids meal I wouldn't be putting the bad review but I definitely would not recommend going there for dinner with autistic kids. We ended up having to go to McDonald's as the handful of chips was not enough for his dinner. Very...
Read moreRegular travelers who always support local business. Ordered 4 meals. Took almost an hour and a half to come out. Made an enquiry 45 minutes after placing order after seeing other guests who ordered after us get their meals. Staff member was quite abrupt. Some time, made another enquiry with the person who took our order. Essentially was told that they’re a small pub and denied that other meals were served before us, regardless of it being witnessed. Meals came out, chips and vegetables were cold. Two meals were also delivered incorrectly. Whilst we appreciate that venues can become busy, in other country pubs we’ve been to, if there is a delay, staff would come out and provide an update and sometimes offer a drink or chips to ‘tide you over’. Not our first time to Collie, but will be our last time to The...
