Another spot we frequent on our way home from Jindabyne, and somehow we’ve never left a review—time to change that. We love this place. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a great vibe, amazing food, plenty of morning sun, and exceptional service. Every time we visit, we’re reminded why it’s a must-stop. This Visit: • Eggs Benny – Served on fresh sourdough with bacon, spinach, perfectly poached eggs, and most importantly, house-made hollandaise. That last detail is everything, and it absolutely delivered. I loved this dish. • Daily Special – Sourdough topped with halloumi, mushrooms, and mozzarella (we think!). The missus polished it off, which tells you all you need to know. She rated it highly, even if we can’t quite recall the exact name. The coffee is always on point, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The fireplace was going during this visit, which made it even better—such a perfect touch on a crisp morning. What more can I say? This place is hands-down one of the best breakfast spots we’ve been to—anywhere. See you again soon.

Probably a good place to go to, but we had a bad experience. Table service was fast for our drink and food orders, drinks came out fairly quickly, but there was a long wait for our food (and no warning that it will be a while). Food was decent; however, the frittata was microwaved to warm it up and was soggy and the bread of the big breakfast was soggy as well. Housemade beans had some great flavours to them. Menu adjustment (asking to replace the bacon with beans) ended up being out through as an addition of beans, and made the breakfast very expensive. The staff did not ask to clarify this adjustment so we were shocked to have that price increase. Toilet signs/decals are inappropriate. Why can't you have gender/body inclusive bathroom signs.

I was avoiding- or at least leaving this place till last… cause it was obvious i'd love it… and i guess im in denial abbot my penchant for the bourgie places… and wanted to shop around? But yeah, the menu is amazing (changing seasonally, where locals will allow favourites to be taken off ) and coffee expertly made with speedy service. Staff v attentive friendly and helpful. SULTAN'S BOWL with Chorizo & Za'atar Roasted Carrots Pan-Fried in Butter Served w/ Garlic-Lemon Yoghurt, Free-Range eggs and sour dough, caught my eye, As did the Roasted Cauliflower but I went with a bit Irish, with all the back and white puddings… I appreciate the extensive drinks menu, especially the largish range of no or low caffeine hot drinks, a rarity any where.

When we arrived at the Lott Cafe, we were seated fairly quickly, however no one came to take our order - I got up to try to order at the counter, but was told I had to return to the table as they could only take orders at the table. With a smile, I said ok, no problems, but could someone take our order soon then? I was assured they’d be right over. We still kept waiting and waiting for someone to come over, but no one did so I quite obviously started waving at staff. She did come over after a few minutes to inform us someone would be over soon (the gentleman who was currently settling up someone else’s bill). We asked if we could just give her our order, and she said no - only he could take our order. …. It was so weird - the cafe had lots of staff, but only one of them could take our order - so we were kept waiting again until the gentleman became available. While we were waiting, we looked at the menu for the cafe down the road (123 Cafe, at 123 Sharp Street) - and decided to just go there and hope for a better experience. As we were walking out, the gentleman did start to come over to take our order but we advised him we had to move on. A shame - we really love supporting local businesses - but this experience wasn’t one that makes us keen to return to the Lott unfortunately. I would even understand if they had some kind of staff training day or something where they were testing staff or needing supervision for orders or something - if they had just explained whatever the reason was for not being able to take our order at either the counter or table - but without explanation, we were just left there, waiting and wondering :( Incidentally - we went down the 123 Cafe - the staff were welcoming, funny, cheeky, but extremely competent with it - our breakfast was HUGE and incredibly tasty - they brought extras of everything without being asked - incredible attention to detail - will...

My friend and I lunched at The Lott Cafe today after a morning of retail therapy. I have driven past this place plenty of times and had always wanted to try it. It did not disappoint. The wait staff were very attentive and served us quickly even though it was a busy lunch time. I ordered the pasta special which was a penne with chorizo, brussel sprouts and sun dried tomato. It was delicious and a very generous serve. My friend ordered the Spanish eggs and then took a call. I questioned the salami in the dish (my friend is currently not eating meat, not a vegetarian just not eating meat), as it was a paste that was included on the accompanying salad I went ahead and ordered it, then explained to my friend what it was. She spoke to a waitress who wasn't sure and then a waiter came over and explained it in more detail, she opted not to have the salami paste. It was no trouble whatsoever and the dishes both arrived a short time later. We thoroughly enjoyed what we had chosen and we also ordered the spritz drinks which were something we had never tried before, they were also very refreshing - plum and marmalade. The experience was very enjoyable, a lovely place with a nice ambiance. We would definitely recommend and we will most certainly be...
