Kaku Sushi & Bento — Restaurant in Darch

I bought take-away from this restaurant with mild, but high expectations due to the perfect 5.0 star reviews. The food I got, however, was disappointing. The takoyaki balls where soft, squishy and did not contain their shape very well compared to normal takoyaki, and the Don bowls where luke-warm (This is concerning, as they both contained meat that if not heated properly, can cause health problems) The one satisfactory thing I bought where the spring roles and sweet&sour sauce. The only decent thing that came out of this whole ordeal was the service, who where okay.

Not coming back ever. Food looks good, that's about it. Sushi did not use short grain rice, texture was very corse and tasted bland. The hand roll was just sushi roll. Tempura prawn was not made fresh, but factory made and microwaved. The Don rice bowl again was not short grain rice, tasted terrible. No ginger or wasabi was served with the sushi. The hand rolls are to die for. I’m coeliac and asked about the soy sauce and teriyaki sauce and the chef read all the bottles they use and told me what was completely gluten free and then provided me with a seperate gluten free soy sauce for my tuna hand roll. The rice is always perfect, the fish has all been amazing and the avocado and cucumber add the perfect freshness.
