Hawker Village Bakery — Restaurant in District of Belconnen

The bread is nice but the service and prices are bad. Nothing on the shelf is labeled with price. Customer can’t know how much it costs unless asking the staff. I felt the amount is too expensive for 2 loaves of bread and 2 pieces of bread when I paid with my card. I asked if there is a surcharge? I guess the cashier said there is a surcharge but she is not sure how much, maybe 1% or 2%. Her English grammar is very hard to understand. I suggested she to tell the owner to put a sign for the card surcharge. She said there is nothing she can do. Not happy with this shopping...

I brought my birthday cake at this store as i wanted to support a local store. I wish I hadnt!!! My cake was a mess the ganach was like spack filler, uneven and a VERY slap happy job, the person had obviously made a stuff up and instead of redoing it they just put more ganach over the top making it uneven and lumpy and wrote over the top with larger writing. Go elsewhere if you want a nice cake for a special occasion. I contacted the owner via email and he never got back to me..bad...

Quick, knowledgeable and friendly service. Gluten free bread that didn't look terrible, glutenous options that were scrumptious! Loved the donuts and crossaints were an excellent texture. Everything was really reasonably priced and on the cheap end (though doesn't taste cheap!) Watch out for the $10 EFTPOS minimum if you don't have cash Staff and service always kind and professional.
