Pizza Artigiana — Restaurant in District of Belconnen

We have been long standing customers of Pizza Artigiana, but our latest experiences have been unsatisfactory.

We recently ordered 2 Margherita pizzas as a takeaway. When we arrived home, we noticed that the cheese had changed - the normally creamy white buffalo mozzarella cheese was replaced by a cheese that was yellower and more oily in appearance. The pizza base was soggy in the middle and stuck to the box. The taste was different and disappointing.

I rang Pizza Artigiana - The chef apologised and explained that they had not received their usual delivery of buffalo mozzarella and that they had opted to use a fior de latte cheese instead. I was offered either a refund or a credit for our next order - we chose the latter as we were certain we would order the pizzas again in the future and understood that deliveries sometimes are delayed. It would have been nice to be informed of the change at the time of order.

When I rang Pizza Artigiana yesterday to place an order, I was told that they did not have the buffalo mozzarella yet. I declined to place an order, but thought it was rather odd as it has been 3 weeks since the previous order. Upon checking the website, I note that it has been updated with the buffalo mozzarella replaced by fior de latte cheese - a cows milk cheese. It appears the buffalo mozzarella was never going to be delivered.

I had noted that the Artigiana pizza boxes had also changed - the name Artigiana is missing, with the name Manoosh in the design. Manoosh is a Lebanese pizza chain and may have different standard ingredients through their stores

The best pizza Canberra has to offer! And I am not exaggerating at all. Honestly, what a hidden but spectacular gem.

We ordered the Patate e Salsiccia - Paola and the Quattro Stagioni - Pietro and we were not disappointed. Beautiful dough and incredibly thin and crisp. Both were absolutely fantastic and you could instantly tell that the staff take a lot of time and effort and put a lot of love into their pizzas. Great service and such high levels of professionalism.

Furthermore, their gelato was amazing. High quality and again, the staff were incredibly accommodating. We ordered coffee, pistachio and bacio (what a life-changing discovery) but the other flavours were also incredible that we had a lot of difficulty deciding which one we wanted!

Definitely will be back very very soon and hoping to try out the other gelato flavours as well as the Tre Carni - Andrea, Funghi - Clelia, the Capricciosa - Marcello and the Napoletana - Anna.

Words cannot truly express how happy I am with the quality of the food and the level of service I received - 10/10 and an easy 5...

Last night we ordered takeaway to be picked up in our bid to support small local businesses during the current lockdown. Although the food was nice, however was not what we expected.

We ordered 2 pastas and 2 pizzas. When ordering we were told that pasta wasn't included and that we had to buy it separately. When we picked up our order we received our pizza's with packet sauce and uncooked pasta to cook at home (we had anticipated the pasta's to be cooked). After looking through the website to see if we had missed this detail, we found that the website didn't clearly explain this. If we had of known the pasta dishes would be provided this way, we would've chosen somewhere else or made pasta from home.

I think it would be helpful if this had been more clearly outlined on the website or by phone. Otherwise, enjoyed the pizza's and flavours...
