Croquembouche .....NOT HAPPY

I was confident when ordering a special wedding lunch Croquembouche for 20 people = I have made these before as a Chef & Cafe/catering business owner but was time poor on this occasion.. Double checked details personally with Chef Wim beginning of week and paid in full $200plus .....it was delivered apparently NOON the DAY BEFORE event :the product looked depleted and very disappointing I was humiliated to say the least_. As the Bride & Groom could not "CUT THAT CAKE" thank goodness the Hotel Kurrajong CAME TO THE RESCUE....they took the very small sized puffs and used them as garnish to a dessert they quickly assembled... I did call L'Orange and left a message stating my distress, i assumed I would have received a call back but there has been no contact to this day. Well all I can do is take my experience and warn others to take heed to avoid an...

My expectations for this pattiserie were high as they had good reviews and the images depicting the cakes/pastries looked fantastic. Unfortunatly after leaving this 'patisserie' I felt dissapointed. The one test of a great patisserie is their pastries, they must be buttery, crispy and served warm. the snail I ordered was none of these things. eclairs should be deep brown in colour, choux should not be chewy like a shoe and mirror glaces need to do what the name suggests. The eclair I ate was chewy and the creme patisserie was gluggy, it had the texture of glue. A dissapointing experience all together...if you want good pastry go to the patisserie in sydney at the rocks, they know the difference between real french desserts and deceptive...

OUR SPECIAL DAY HAS BEEN RUINED BY YOU! I ordered special birthday cake online, received confirmation by email. On the day, I came to pick up, the shop was closed. I tried to call so many times, no one answered. They defended that the shop close on Sunday and its on the website and they prepared the cake on Saturday instead. Why on the confirmation you didn't mention anything about the shop is close on Sunday and you will prepare the cake on Saturday instead? Why no one bothered to call me to let me know that you prepared the cake on Saturday and expected me to collect it? I WILL NEVER EVER WANT TO COME TO...

Ordered a Croqembouche for our wedding. Was absolutely delicious! Vanilla and choc centres were heavely and the toffee was light and crunchy. Wim was very helpful in hepping us work our the size we needed. Communication could have been clearer in the organising phase and some more collaboration on the final look would have been appreciated but we got there in the end. I think the decoration with flowers and bows was a little dated. Delivery to the hotel went smoothly. Overall we were very happy

Located in the heart of the Manuka shop, this place offers a unique collection of pastries and cakes. There are some Dutch influences in their collection (hence the name L'Orange?) as I have never seen any other bakeries and patisseries in Canberra offering speculaas for their cake. We tried it and it was really good. Unfortunately, they don't have almond croissants, but I tried the pain au chocolate. It was ok but not the best you can find in Canberra.
