Extremely disappointing experience and the worst customer service.
I visited the cafe with my friends around 4:30 PM after a tiring day , hoping to relax with some coffee. We had kids with us (all around 1 to 1.5 years old), so we gave them some snacks to keep them occupied while we enjoyed our drinks.
Shortly after, a staff member approached us and, quite curtly, asked us not to give the kids anything that might create a mess because they had already cleaned the cafe.While her approach was unnecessary, we still responded politely and agreed.
But not long after, my daughter accidentally dropped a plastic container, and the same staff member returned with an even more unpleasant attitude. She spoke rudely and acted as if we had intentionally caused trouble. I tried to explain that these are babies how can you expect toddlers that young to behave like adults? If cleanliness was such a concern, why allow customers at all if you are already closed or done cleaning?
Instead of offering any understanding, she went on about other customers supposedly complaining and even tried to intimidate me by saying she would send photos of the mess to the owner which felt more like a threat than anything constructive.
The whole experience was humiliating and completely ruined what should have been a relaxing time with friends. We left feeling upset and unwelcome. If your cafe is open, then treat your paying customers especially families with basic courtesy. Hospitality is not just about serving coffee, it’s also about how you make your customers feel. Read moreCoffee Guru Amaroo has continuously gone downhill, I’ve been visiting the cafe since 2018, the staff, food and atmosphere use to be great & when the barista Ryan worked you would always be served with wonderful customer service & a great coffee. The current manager is kind however struggles to take orders. One of the girls that work there with red hair is extremely rude and lacks basic customer service skills, at first I thought it was because she was new to the job, I now realise after months that the staff member is rude in general. Speaks abruptly to customers and does not use any mannerisms. It’s a shame because my family & friends use to love going to the cafe, now we would rather avoid & visit the other two cafes in the Amaroo area. The coffee was alright, but the scrambled eggs were runny and almost raw, and the bread tasted like it was not fresh and was overcooked. The staff member seemed like she didn't care when taking the order, and it shows in how the food is made. I felt unwell in my stomach after eating the terrible, overpriced breakfast, and had to get a snack from another store.
