Really lovely place, good atmosphere. Service was a little slow, but I think largely due to Mother's day crowds. Space is a little cramped and our table was wobbly, but still a great experience. The coffee was really good, and the doughnuts are amazing. Took some caramel slice home, and enjoyed that the next day. The chocolate top was a little too rich for me, so didn't eat all of it, but the caramel and biscuit base absolutely make the best caramel slice I've had in Canberra. Can't wait to try more of their baked goods. Had a burger and chips for lunch. Excited to find a place that hand cuts their chips. Perfectly cooked. The burger on a house made bun was yummy. All very reasonably priced. Will be going back. The pies look like they need to be tried.

Country town cafe Attended on Sunday at 12:30 for some lunch, upon arrival could see the inside was quite busy but we managed to secure a table The cafe itself is quite cluttered with takeaway cups and other items stored within decorative items such as the bookshelf. We noticed the glass cabinets storing cold items to be quite dirty. I felt for the solo staff member who was cooking all the food, taking orders, making coffees and delivering food, surely they need to have more staff for a busy Sunday, considering this the food still came out quite quick! We ordered two of the beef burgers one requested as GF ($2) Pretty standard cafe beef burger, nothing amazing, still quite tasty, large portions and well priced

Arrived on a Saturday morning with a booking for 5. Seated inside. Nice cosy environment. Order at the counter from the chalkboard menu. Food was quick to be brought out. Ordered Eggs and toast with hash brown and avo and it was average. Nothing special and very basic presentation. The homemade Crumpets were really good with homemade jam and would be what I would order if I came again. The signature dish of Welsh Rarebit is good but very strong and the mustard used is hot mustard. It's nice but quite overpowering. Perhaps a good share option so you don't have to eat the whole thing yourself. Coffee was okay, again nothing special. Friendly staff. Fresh juices were nice too, especially the apple one.

This is about the most perfect cafe experience you could ask for. Of course, it helped that we were there within an hour of closing on a quiet Sunday afternoon straight after new year - there was no wait and no problem getting the perfect seat outside. I imagine on market Sundays things might be a little more hectic.

We had flat whites (you can choose a cup or a mug; we chose mugs and they were lovely stoneware), and then between us tried the banana bread (warm and buttery) and one of their signature filled doughnuts - the passionfruit one. Everything was fresh and great and totally delicious. And it took at least 5 min to choose from everything in the pastry case - there were Welsh cakes and rocky road and all sorts. I think they want you to come back to assuage your initial indecision and it's a fine marketing technique because we will DEFINITELY be back. Maybe for brunch next time; that menu looks amazing!

There's quite a lot of seating indoors, more along a long verandah outside, and free parking on two sides of the building. The verandah overlooks the sport oval on the other side of the quiet street. The gentleman who served us was lovely and kind. Just a 5-star experience;...

It is no exaggeration to say that this cafe has the best donuts I’ve ever tasted. Even more impressive is the friendly caring staff. I ordered gluten donuts for my Mum for Mother’s Day, explaining to the owner that my mum hasn’t had a donut (her favourite dessert) in 5 years since being diagnosed as a celiac. This was due to fear caused by the negligence of many cafes and restaurants we have encountered who have contaminated her food with gluten and caused her to become violently ill. The staff at Kynefin however, were well versed in the proper way to prepare and serve gluten free food! As a result my mum was able to enjoy her donuts without the worry of contamination ! What’s more is that she said these donuts were even better than any donut she had before her diagnosis! Thank you for making my Mum’s donut...
