Went at about 10:30 Saturday. We greeted the two staff working there and they were rearranging the outdoor seating. They were just shuffling around the 10 or so chairs a few centimetres, standing back to look at the chairs, then shuffled them again.
We thought maybe they needed some help, so helped to move a cover. They thanked us and then proceeded to completely ignore us again. They talked between themselves and kept moving the chairs and looking at them. It was also raining so the seating wouldn’t be used at all that day.
After 30 minutes of standing at the register and discussing lunch (while they rearranged chairs) we left. Very frustrating experience and it was only when we drove away that they realised that we didn’t come to watch them arrange chairs in the rain 😐
It felt like we were in a TV show or being pranked… we were just completely ignored. We were friendly, helped out, and did not behave negatively at all, so I don’t understand why they didn’t serve us. They knew we were there and wanted to order. A family arrived while we got back into the car to leave, and the staff greeted them happily and served them immediately.
I don’t write negative reviews but I feel that people should know the type of service that customers receive here. Won’t be...
Read moreIt's no secret that Europeans lead the world for all things made of meat. I'm sorry, they do. They take spices, whatever meat is available, and they make it work. The further east you travel in Europe, in general, the more spiced meat becomes a staple. That's the premise of Spit Shack. While it sounds like a room full of spittoons, in reality it's a small wooden, well, shack, that serves unbelievably delicious meats that have their origins in Eastern Europe; in this case Croatia. It's a family run business, so you tend to run into family members, which is always a good sign.
Now, the important part. The food is excellent. It's fast food obviously, but it's delivered at a slightly slower pace; while the food itself arrived fast, it's not too processed. The meat is juicy enough and there's lots of it. Condiments range from traditional to contemporary American; there's a good range. It's more expensive than other comparative fast food joints, but not by much. The chips and gravy are a probably overly salty, but the quantity makes you shut up and scoff anyway. Greed is a terrible thing.
Highly recommended....
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer of yours for about 6 months, but I just the worst customer service from one of your employees. After calling the piallago store 7 times wanting to put an order through and nobody answering the phone, getting there and there’s only one other customer there, trying to order a egg and bacon roll for a colleague and the guy says “no sorry it’s all turned off” even though your still open for 45 minutes, I then ask if he can do a lamb or pork roll for the same price and he reluctantly says yes (thank you) and then after I pay he than says “You better watch myself”.... I’m not even sure if I want to give my colleague the food as he’s probably spat on it or something in spite.
After this experience I’m not too sure if I want to ever return or recommend the spit shack to anyone...
