Cafe Au Lait — Restaurant in District of Weston Creek

I asked at the counter for a lactose free drink. I asked if I could have the Iced Coffee Lactose Free. They agreed saying they had lactose free milk.

An older man comes to serve my drink and it's covered in full dairy cream.I begin explaining that I can not have this because the cream isn't Lactose free and I ordered it LF for an allergy. (Which I stated earlier as I asked if the drink was Lactose Free before ordering.)

He immediately bristles up angrily and starts talking down at us. Raising his voice and saying that yes it's cream but the milk is lactose free so it's fine. He also informed me it had ice cream in it. Ice cream and cream are not lactose free. Nor was I informed about these being in my drink before ordering and explaining I'm lactose intolerant.

I tried to explain how lactose intolerance worked. But he kept rudely talking over me. He didn't offer a work around and instead we bought a different drink.

Please beware if you have allergies or intolerances. They will serve you the food you can not have anyways. It's negligent and they could have made me seriously ill. They could get someone...

Stopped by for an early lunch today since we were in the centre. It was very busy and we were lucky to get a table. They have a smallish menu as well as daily specials but I had no trouble find ing multiple options. We settled on the chicken schnitzel burger and a bowl of chips.

Chips were crisp an just out of the fryer served with a small dish of tomato sauce. They lightly salted, which I prefer, and tasted great. Probably the best chips I've had in a long while.

Burgers were served on lightly toasted buns with lettuce, a slice of tomato and a good amount of mayo. Everything was fresh and hot. Obviously made fresh to order from scratch. Fantastic.

Service was pleasantly efficient and friendly. There was a small confusion over the order that was rectified quickly. Staff also continually cleared tables.

10/10 will...

This is a great little cafe. Upstairs in Weston Creek Cooleman Court shopping center - just out the front of Aldi.

So they do all the standard fair for cafes, all the usual coffee's etc, and a great little selection of food. Their schnitzel burger is a favorite of mine. Wedges are nice and crispy too along with their sweet chilli sauce.

Coffee is good and tasty and the staff are all so friendly. They're always polite and give you a smile. And then, lastly, their prices are really reasonable.

So if youre looking for somewhere friendly, tasty, reasonably priced with quick service, come check out Cafe Au Lait.
