Classic Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in District of Weston Creek

I used to come here all the time as I really enjoyed the food but my recent takeaway experience was incredibly disappointing.

I placed my order at 6:30pm and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. When I went in just after that time, I was told it wasn’t ready and to wait another 10–12 minutes. I came back 20 minutes later and was told it still wasn’t ready. When I explained I’d ordered nearly an hour ago, the staff said they would tell the chefs to start making it now and it would be another 10-12 minutes.

Half an hour later when the food was finally ready around 8:00pm, I was exhausted and hungry ready to forget the food as I waited around 1.5 hours. I paid the full amount of $140 and received no real apology or compensation for the extremely long wait besides the “sorry the kitchen is very busy”. When I first arrived, the restaurant only had three tables seated—definitely not busy enough for my order to be delayed that long? It was clear my order kept getting pushed back.

I went with my partner to this place thinking we will have a nice dinner. We went inside and the waitress asked us to sit in the table infront of the door and I didn't like the sitting so I asked could we sit somewhere else. And the audacity of that waitress to say, "WE ARE EXPECTING PEOPLE ". Of course you are. You are a restaurant, you should expect people. But the way she said, I lost it and couldn't stand there a single second. I haven't tried the food so I won't say anything about the food. But the service, the attitude that waitress had, unbelievable. She needs to learn how to make the customer happy and comfortable in a place where they come thinking they will have a nice time with good food.

The owner should know how she is treating and making people uncomfortable.

We went for dinner here for the first time. The meals were delicious and nicely presented. The restaurant seems to be rather quiet but have many takeaway orders. The timing of the meals was just about right for appetizers, main etc. Two important things that we believe need to be looked into: bathroom and dusting. We were the first guests and the bathroom did not have sufficient toilet paper, it was not cleaned, and the bin was full of used papers. Further, a number of soap or hand lotion bottles were lined up at the sink (i.e., they weren’t removed after being empty?!). The lights inside the restaurant had layers of dust. Perhaps one of the reasons why people like the meals but would rather not eat inside the restaurant and prefer takeaways is because the ambient of the restaurant is not inviting, and cleanliness plays an important role!
