Orient Kitchen — Restaurant in District of Weston Creek

We came in 45 minutes before closing and the person who I assume was the owner gave us a horrible attitude and said “You know we close in 45 minutes right?” She didn’t not say this with any positive connotation and when we said “yes. We are just looking for some lunch” she looked visibly annoyed and then went at sat us in the corner and started judging us. I went to take out my bottle of sprite she looked visibly frustrated and said “if you open that in here you will be charged” just trying to squeeze every penne out of us. When we tried to order 4 serves of rice and one dish as well as dumplings she started laughing at us and said in a nasty tone “you don’t need that much rice you only have one dish” she constantly talked down on us which is extremely unprofessional on her side. The food was extremely mediocre, dumplings were very bland, rice was dry not to mention her attempt at running our pockets dry, putting sauce we didn’t ask for on our table than making us pay for it is extremely poor behaviour. I would not go back, from the extremely rude behaviour of the older lady to the food being bland, the treatment was not worth it. I do NOT recommend 0/10...

I was so excited for the roast duck after all the reviews. Instead I was given crispy pork belly and they told the person picking it up that it was pork (who didnt know it was wrong), so it wasnt a mix up. But when I ordered, they repeated it back to me correctly. If they ran out of duck, I'd prefer a phone call to know and choose something else. Rest of the food was okay, just a communication issue and unfortunately, I don't like pork belly.

This is solid Hong Kong Chinese food, authentic flavors, hyper fresh ingredients, well crafted dishes with the odd modern take like their Oriental Mango prawns.
