I recently visited this food outlet with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was quite underwhelming.
The Momo was just average – nothing special. What really disappointed me was the jhol – it was completely bland, lacking salt, spice, and any distinct flavor. The Chicken Chow Mein was also quite basic, with no standout taste.
I ordered Keema noodles expecting something rich and flavorful, but instead received what seemed like boiled pasta mixed with momo ko aachar – not at all what Keema noodles should be, and again, no proper taste. The Sausage was average as well, nothing memorable.
Both Laphing and Jhol Laphing were very disappointing. They tasted more like crushed Wai Wai than authentic laphing. I had tried amazing laphing in Sydney Ashfield before, so I was hoping for a similar experience – sadly, this was far from it.
The only thing that truly stood out in a positive way was the tea – it was absolutely amazing and full of flavor. If I go back, it would probably only be for that.
Overall, the food definitely needs improvement in terms of taste and authenticity. Hoping to see better...

After hearing so many great things from friends, I finally tried Capital Laphing Station, and I’m so glad I did! This food truck delivers authentic Indo-Nepali flavours that truly hit the spot.
The momos were incredibly delicious—perfectly steamed with rich, flavorful fillings. The pani puri was fresh and fun, and the chowmein instantly took me back to the vibrant local restaurants of Kathmandu. It’s clear that the food is made with heart and tradition.
The location is also a big plus—parked conveniently next to a playground, it’s an ideal spot if you're visiting with family. There’s plenty of parking, and if you bring a picnic mat, you can enjoy a relaxed outdoor meal without having to cook a thing. A perfect little outing!
🌟 Overall, a very pleasant experience. Friendly service, generous portions, and genuine flavours. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re after something tasty, unique,...
Read moreHad a typical Thela Momo after such a long time. Reminded me of my college days where having thela momo was a routine. It was not just the van and the ambiance but the taste itself reminded me of that time in Nepal.
Half momo half chowmein, 1.5 plate momo shows that they really care about the customers. 5 Stars for that because sometimes 1 plate would be enough and I would never finish 2 plate too.
Not a great sitting place but we were not there for a fine dinner. Enjoyed whatever they had.
Not a laphing lover but I tried it anyway. Was Ok (don’t know what a good lahping tastes like and never knew why people are crazy for it) I even brought 2 plates to Brisbane for my wife and sister. They loved it too.
Might not be the best place yet in Canberra but you are doing great.
I will definitely visit on my next visit to...
