D Thai Street Food — Restaurant in District of Weston Creek

My Thai mum recommended this place and I was not expecting it to be THIS good. I phoned the restaurant and ordered for delivery. The person who answered the phone was friendly, and so was the person who delivered it, both very efficient.

The food is something else though... do yourself a favour and try the Pad Thai and spring rolls. Spring rolls aren't usually a standout but these are nicely filled and weighted, the pastry was crunchy and sturdy so it never fell apart. They even packaged the spring rolls in a lined paper bag, so the oil never seeped through. Pad Thais can be quite varied in Canberra, some preferring a drier texture, and some a thicker texture, this one was perfectly in between and still light. Hands down, the best one I've had in Canberra, my mum's included! The chicken chilli basil sauce is also delicious, perfectly balanced between spicy, salty, and sweet with decent sized slices of chicken through it.

I'll definitely be ordering here in future, how great to have a deliciously authentic local...

I used to think this place was a 5/5 and been a faithful customer for years so I excused some issues. Unfortunately some of our order have become average. I now never buy chicken here, No big loss as i just get another meat. The duck is still very good. One time we got the wrong order, ok no worries. HOwever the final straw came when the owner tried to say that bunt bits were normal (whole heap in the Pad Thai). Well i tried to explain that im no expert but been to Thailand and had been eating plus cooking my own for 30 years. So no apology or refund (sorry 10% on that dish - i said to keep it). We ordered our food to be delivered last night, trying them for the 1st time,seeing good reviews. They mentioned 45 mms for delivery, then waiting an hour about to ring them, then they called and said our food was on the way, they were busy, that can happen, that's fine. We started to serve the food, springrolls were cold, reheated them. Poured my tom yum soup in a bowl was warm and there was only 2 prawns and 4 piece of mushrooms for $12, it wasn't even a strong Tom yum taste, I should of cooked it myself.
