Gosh I genuinely feel bad giving this review as a gal that has worked hospo and understands what a bad review can do.
In saying that, we booked a table for 9 for Fatherās Day for 10 am. Turned up on time and was taken to our table. Table didnāt have anything on it.. waited 10 minutes and searched for menus, then ordered our food and drinks⦠to be told they are out of pancakes and waffles?!? At 10 am. . Anyways that was fine, So 40 minutes later we got our drinks ( coffees ) NO table water in this duration. My sister in law asked politely after waiting 40 minutes for her coffee to be heated up (you would think they would just make a new one) they put in in the micro wave.. 15 minutes later she went up to the coffee station and asked for it, it was still in the microwave, in stead of making a new one they re heated it for a 2nd time š«£š«£š«£š«£. In front of her and gave it to her, eventually the food came out and it was all cold, we have no cutlery .. had to get it ourselves⦠this was 75 minutes. The food was shocking and missing key ingredients. I understand some days are super busy and cafes canāt keep up. Communication is key. We had a booking so they knew we were coming.. it would have gone a long way to tell us that there was a hour wait for food and we would have elsewhere. . Service. Food/ everything was terrible, worst breakfast we have ever had. Iām so sorry to make this review but it wasnāt a good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat introduction to start. Mainly friendly staff. Lovely outdoor area. However, I chose this cafe for its advertised gluten free options as I am Coeliac. When we told the friendly chap that I needed a totally gluten free option for medical reasons he seemed a bit annoyed. I asked what would be my safest option on their menu. He replied definitely not the pasta, then recommended perhaps the mango salad with the proviso that he couldn't guarantee anything was gluten free, which was odd seeing the menu advertised so many GF options. I ordered the salad without the chicken or prawns as I was not convinced he believed the seriousness of cross contamination with Coeliac. The salad was okay and I did not get sick which was a relief. I have read other reviews to the contrary since dining there. Shockingly I have just looked at our receipt and we were charged $1 extra to have the salad Gluten Free!! When it was listed on the menu as GF. It is a shame all food service providers don't educate themselves about Coeliac and food allergies. We are customers too. It is not that difficult to serve a GF meal option if you understand what needs to happen. Particularly with a salad. Definitely don't recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell, we go to this cafe whenever we are in Dubbo because my mum is coeliac and their menu has a lot of Gluten free options. Well mum being excited to have a decent breakfast ordered the eggs, bacon and mushrooms. Mum pointed out she was coeliac, and enjoyed her meal thoroughly. Upon asking where they got their gluten free bread from we were informed nothing in the meal was Gluten free. Needless to say inside of travelling home (3hrs away) weāve had to book into a hotel again tonight and my Mum is currently violently ill. Iāve had to reschedule my dialysis to do it in Dubbo tomorrow as I canāt do it at home and who knows if we have to book a hotel room again tomorrow night as Mum hasnāt eaten that much gluten in years. The ānew chefā was blamed, but I think thatās a cop out. They offered my mum a free meal next time she returns. Needless to say she wonāt be returning. So disappointing as itās already hard enough to find places that have gluten free options. Mums now convinced she doesnāt ever want to try anywhere again. Iām beyond angry my poor...
