My family travelled (some 51/2 hours) from various locations to meet up and share a meal to celebrate a birthday. Based on previous experiences (years ago when this place was very popular and great) we chose this The Milestone Hotel, with one of the private downstairs dining rooms. These are actually quite nice and have the potential to be an amazing location for a celebration. We were so DISAPPOINTED on so many levels. The food was absolutely atrocious. DO NOT EAT HERE. The fish was inedible -like cardboard - with a very peculiar taste, maybe off. Probably out of a packet that was rolling around in the bottom of the freezer for way too long. The steak was dry, and served with cold vegetables. We ordered mushroom gravy and it came out with Gravox gravy. We had two vegetarians in our party and the only option for vegetarians, as a main meal, was Greek Salad (in winter). Seriously, we can go to outback pubs (for example, the Glengarry Hilton on the opal fields near Lightning Ridge, and even they offer a vegetarian burger). The Chicken Schnitzel was dry and very average as well. With prices as charged ( $24 Chicken Schnitzel, Fish and Chips $23+) it is just totally unacceptable. Do not bother with this place until it changes...
Read moreWe went here for a lunch with our son who lives in Dubbo on Tuesday 2 September 2014, all three we ordered the chicken snitzel burger. Preparation of our lunch didn't take long and was very tasty 4 star quality the drinks we had - lemon lime and bitters was also of a good quality. All in all this was a good experience until we ordered three cappuccino's, I never in my life have had such a digesting cup of hot water with milk..all three... the dare to charge $5 ea for them as well. I approached one of the girls working there when she sat at one of the tables I think she had a break, and informed her of the three mugs of hot water and that it couldn't even be called coffee...she looked at me and replied 'oh well, I let them know' no refund or even an apology. That is how business owners loose their livelihood as I will never return there for a meal (although that was...
