Piscari Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Fremantle

28 August 2025 Update Had 2 small fish and chips a couple of nights ago and it was very nice. Good sized portions, tasty fish, batter not soggy and chips cooked to perfection. Will be going back again!

Very disappointed with our order of 2 small fish & chips tonight. Have been coming here regularly for a several years but there was a change of ownership, maybe 1 month ago, and it's definitely not as good. Chips were overcooked and lots of small bitty crispy chips with no potato inside (must have been the end of the bag!) and only slightly warm (and I was there when they dished them up so it's not as if I was late in picking them up) they must have been sitting in the basket draining for a considerable time. The fish had no taste, one end of which was just batter the other end was quite thick. Asked for salt and vinegar & had to add our own at home (not a major issue, we can live with that). We'll give them one more chance ... but after a very unappetizing meal, we're sorry to say, we'll probably...

The seafood basket was really good and great for the price. The batter was exceptional; light and crispy, non greasy or oily. The chips were average and no different than regular chips you'd get from other fish&chips places. The prawns, scallops and squid however, were quite tender, fresh and had the same light and crispy batter. The store has only 2 tables despite being quite spacious; would be better if there were more tables. Our wait time was around 30 minutes (15 minutes more than we were told) but it's okay as watching the crew kept us entertained. Overall, I'd recommend Piscari over other fish&chips...

Oh my! This was the best fried fish I have ever had. The batter was very light and not greasy. The chips were just chips, but I won't deduct a star for the chips. The large portion was massive. It would be suitable for two people. I also ordered the calamari which was delicious. My eyes were bigger than my stomach. FYI....you have to pay extra for ketchup. I would have liked a side of vinegar as they do not douse it which is great so it doesn't get soggy, but I wanted more. I did take away and it was warm and crispy after a 10-15 minute walk.
