Let's be clear about the experience first. If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese food then this is probably not the right choice. But if you want a good Asian fusion meal in Sale then I wholeheartedly recommend Viet kitchen. The place offers a nice and cozy sitting area. I arrived when they were about to close but the staff was very accommodating. I picked chicken curry and the food arrived quickly. The chicken was tender and the curry flavor was just right, not overwhelming like a lot of other similar dishes. The sauce is thick and a bit more on the sweet side which is exactly what I like. Overall, it is closer to Japanese than Vietnamese curry. If not for the lemon grass which gave the dish a distinctive Vietnamese flavour, I would have mistaken it with a Kare Raisu from the land of the sun. It came with a bowl of steamed Jasmine rice which was cooked to perfection. I bet they must used a Tiger rice cooker. I truly enjoyed the meal, one of the best curry for a while. They do have a good selection of beverages just looking at the shelves. For those who do not drink, coconut juice is offered...
Read moreFood was tasty, owner was lovely, terrible service from the girl serving us.
She asked to see my private medical information, yet didn’t ask to see my friends medical information.
She also asked to see my licence which is illegal, but I didn’t want to cause a scene and I felt bullied.
I was dressed in hippy pants and my friend was dressed in gym clothes and I felt she discriminated against me for my appearance.
After that ordeal, she charged me $26 for a bowl of pho, she didn’t tell me it would be extra when I ordered, I just figured as the tofu veg/mushroom comes that way for $18 it would be the same and they would replace some of the chicken with vegetables, when I questioned the price she was nasty and condescending.
I felt embarrassed, so paid and left, even though I felt ripped off and hadn’t budgeted for a $26 bowl of soup.
Quality of food was nice, although wouldn’t want to experience that kind of treatment again, it was a bad experience and the way she made me feel left a very bitter taste in my mouth, so as much as the food was lovely I sadly likely...
Read moreAs a veggie who appreciates spice and texture, the tofu vermicelli salad knocked it outta the park—crispy fried tofu, crunchy spring rolls, fresh herbs, and a chili-lime dressing that brought the heat. Paired with their Vietnamese coffee—sweet, strong, and straight-up Saigon vibes—it’s a combo I’d cross town for.
My friends pho and curry? Legit fire. The broth was rich, and the curry had that slow-simmered, coconut-cream magic that makes you wanna cancel plans and just eat.
For a hospitality worker who’s seen it all, this place nails authenticity without the wank. No frills, no fuss—just banging food that’d hold its own in Melbourne or Saigon. Viet Kitchen’s the real deal. Veggies, spice fiends, and anyone with tastebuds—get in...
