Haven't been here in probably close to 3 years since the "sickness" befell the Earth and being unable to get back to my birth place Australia for 14 months. Have eaten here before that and in my opinion, nothing to write home about. Came here with family this evening, we each ordered a different dish. Beer Battered Barramundi, cooked wonderfully and fresh, flavour and consistency in the batter hugged the fish snug as a bug in a rug, first class! Chicken Skewers (which by the way is not served on skewers (so much more chicken than you'd get on a stick!) and comes with rice and a surprisingly delightful little zingy asian inspired salad served to the side, Seafood Marinara with a perfectly complimentary little kick of chilli that Goldilocks would be happy with, (can't personally comment on the seafood in the dish because it had all been eaten by the time I got 'round to trying! Another happy customer, speaks volumes!! Coconut Prawns served with THE MOST AMAZING CHIPS I've had in a long time from anywhere!!! Delicious, golden, crunchy coating and a soft and fluffy guts, key word, CONSISTENCY, a beautiful fresh garden salad including cucumber, Garlic Prawns, TEN, YES, TEN, AMPLY SIZED FRESH PRAWNS COOKED TO PERFECTION!!! and a small serving of rice with a little rocket and lemon wedge on the side. KEY WORDS GARLIC PRAWNS, NOT GARLIC RICE WITH A FEW PRAWNS and the garlic bread, such generous portions and the best garlic bread we've had. Most all of us tried a little of every meal and they were all superbly flavoured and presented, 10 out of 10 value for money especially with the 40 percent off with the eatclub app and 10 out of 10 for quality paired with quantity. Whoever the chef is thank you for a memorable meal to write home about and shout out to Helen for her ever amazing customer service, kindness and smile. Thank you Burleigh Bears Team đđ ps sorry no photos we were all too busy enjoying an amazing night and graciously engulfed in our meals and each other. God...
Read moreLast night we held my fatherâs 70th birthday at the Club. The staff were rude and snooty from the very start. I approached the bar for my first drink and was told, âIâm busy, find someone else to serve youâ, by a cranky young bartender. I mean, zero smile, zero warmth. There was ONE other bartender, serving a full bar of Club patrons on the opposite side- we had a private event with our own area, and no willing bar staff to serve us. Over the course of the evening, I used the self-serve water and was able to view the bar staff from behind. They were spending a lot of time in discussion, with frowning expressions, inspecting our party. It was a mostly sit-down event, with family and friends gathered from around Australia, to celebrate the special occasion. After the formalities, we began to drink a little more, and some dancing. Staff became increasingly unfriendly, and my husband was cut off from the bar. He doesnât even drink much (because it gives him bad headaches) and has a very relaxed demeanour. He was ordering a round for many people and couldnât remember the order, so was cut off for being too intoxicated. How embarrassing for him! To ruin his father-in-lawâs party! It felt like the staff were looking in for a way to end our party so that they could go home. Eventually, my husband was approached by security to be removed, as he had been handed a drink by someone else. It was such a horrible situation that the party ended abruptly, with many sad and disappointed people. After the thousands that were spent at the Club by our family, the behaviour of staff was an absolute disgrace. Will make sure that our story is well known around the Gold Coast so that others do not have their event ruined by âhospitalityâ staff with no...
Read moreWe went to a private party last week. The food and service were okay, but I was really concerning about how unsafe it felt. There was a guy who was absolutely wasted â stumbling all over, bumping into people and furniture, and even doing stuff like humping the floor in front of everyone and sleazing over any woman that went on the dance floor. It was obvious he was way too drunk, but the staff just ignored it. Even worse, they kept giving him more drinks and laughing at him, which honestly felt like they didnât care about anyoneâs safety. It didnât take long before he knocked into someone else, and then slammed into my wife. They both fell into the DJâs stage, and there was glass smashed everywhere. My wife got pretty bruised and was really shaken up â especially because it happened right in front of our 13-year-old. The other guy was hurt too. What disgusted me was that even after all this, the staff didnât do anything to stop the guy or help people stay safe. They just kept serving him more alcohol. I went back on Monday to talk to the manager (Noel), hoping theyâd take it seriously. Instead, he avoided looking at me, was talking on his radio, made lots of excuses, and said heâd call me after checking security footage and speaking with the duty manager â but he never did. Itâs clear he knew their behaviour was disgraceful and dangerous. Itâs really disappointing and worrying in a place where there were so many kids and customers that someone that is so drunk that they cannot walk properly and acting in an unsafe manner is laughed at by staff and continued to be served. It ended up with people getting hurt and damage being done. The venue needs to take responsibility and start putting...
