This is the best Vegan/Vegetarian Yum cha place I've ever been to. If you are planning in advance to come here arrive hungry cause there is plenty to indulge in.
We've been lucky enough to dine here twice. The first time was with a bigger family group of 6 diners on a Sunday at 11am - we were relatively limited for time as we were headed to an AFL match at Metricon stadium. The service was fast but well paced and the staff were very accommodating. We sat outside and never missed a beat of the fresh service, the tea and drinks were replenished and each plate arrived at a very well orchestrated pace. All we had to do was enjoy the experience... and we DID!! They also have some seasonal specials only available on weekends that are not to be missed. We were very well fed including drinks for a total of around $160-$180
The second time was a lunch for two on a Thursday at 2pm at the end of a visit to the Lamington national park. The restaurant was still brimming with business even at that time with some diners opting for the lunch menu and others enjoying Yum cha. I really enjoyed the more relaxed pace of the midweek lunch but there was no compromise of fast service and fresh high quality ingredients. We had many of the Yum cha staples and were very satisfied. For two we paid around $68 with a generous amount of plates and were pleasantly satisfied
On both occasions I was not there in the right season for the Mango pudding that other reviews have raved about. ONE DAY I WILL GET IT!! Clearly we will be back when we are in the GC again ha.
So fresh and the service is fantastic. The quality of each plate speaks for itself and it's obvious that the team cares about what they are doing and it shows everywhere! The atmosphere is simple, casual and chic and they also have some outdoor tables as I outlined previously. There is ample parking as commuters are coming and going from the area so if there is a struggle for parking it will be short lived. (so it's worth the potential short wait)
The staff are very friendly and have plenty of recommendations for a heavenly feast.
My favourite plates were - Fried Combination dumplings Radish Cakes XO Noodle Chinese Coriander dumpling
But the whole menu is great so you won't be let down.
They also have a lunch and dinner menu that I am yet to try. It looks delicious as well but I honestly can't go past the Yum cha.
Enjoy and bring...
Read moreAmazing food, super fast service and nice atmosphere! I visited the restaurant for dinner on Sunday night with my family of five people.
We ordered a variety of foods including, Singaporean noodles, Stir fried vegetables with curry sauce & garlic sauce, spring rolls, and vegetable fried rice. The food was very flavourful and the optional extra hot chilli was delicious 😋! The serving sizes were a good amount, however after discussing with my family we all agreed that there could have had more veges/variety of veges overall. It would have been nice if the menu had the ingredients too. Very green 💚
For desert, we ordered the special mango pudding and fried icecream. The mango pudding was a delicious texture and had a good amount of natural mango flavour. The fried icecream was yummy!!!!! I've never tried fried icecream before and this was an amazing first time trying it. I love fried food and icecream (like any normal person lol) and the combination of both was just so gooood! 🍨😋
The service was excellent!! Our waitress was extremely kind and accommodating of my allergies and dietary requirements. She would constantly check in with our table to ensure everything was good and would verify the ingredients of specific dishes we ordered. She was very nice and definetly made the experience...
Read moreUnfortunately I was disappointed by this restaurant. satisfactory but nothing impressive. In my opinion the food was overpriced. For example it was $4.95 for a cup of steamed rice, and over $18 for lemon chicken which came with nothing except for lemon sauce. I understand the idea is to order several dishes however this would end up costing around $80 for two people and that’s too expensive for the food quality and restaurant overall. All my food was fried and battered. the lemon chicken was soaked in a sickly lemon sauce which had no dynamic flavour. Plastic plates, cheap wooden chopsticks, plastic tables heaped in together and we were sitting about 40 cm from the cashier. This isn’t priced like a budget restaurant but that’s how it looked and tasted to me. I walked away feeling a little ill after all the deep fry and sickly lemon chicken sauce. If the price was less, or the food quality and decor improved, I think this would be a better experience. Vegan meat is becoming readily...
