I drove past this place a few weeks back and I thought "Oh that looks cool, a small local non-pretentious restaurant, I wonder if they are doing okay after Covid...". I kept driving as I had places to go.
This year I began to hit the gym 4 times a week, and in concert with that goal I also became a very clean eater, you know, eating a strict controlled diet.
My mate was in town and we decided to go out to dinner, when he asked for a place to go to my mind immediately jumped to Easy Street. After eating a strict diet for so long I wanted to let loose and live-a-little and I had a good feeling about Easy Street Diner.
We went last night and it was so good! The booking was easy (I recommend booking). Ordering was done via phone, however, I dislike this kind of thing, I like to keep my phone number private and all that. I told the friendly waitress I wanted to order the oldschool way and she accomodated me immediately with physical menus and she took out her pen and paper pad. It was simple and easy. The service staff were all fantastic! Honestly, the menu is a little pricey for me (a poor psychology student) however I can't fault them on quality, and eating out here as a once a month thing, is definitely reasonable. I think for anyone else earning a decent wage the prices here will be glorious for the delicious and generous food you get.
I booked for 5:30 (anticipating it getting busier at around 6/7pm) and we had ordered by 5:45. The food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. Not even hyperbole. Everything was excellent. Crisp, juicy, tender, all the good things. I thought the portion sizes were pretty good (sharing for two). However, I can't lie though, I would not have complained if I got more and that is because I enjoyed everything I ate. We stayed for about an hour or so and had a great time enjoying the food and great conversation.
My mate and I shared cheesey chips, pork pieces, and onion rings. By chance (won't divulge) my mate had the pork belly burger and said it was delicious. I had the double royale and smashed it in about a minute I was so hungry and it was so good.
There were two honest mistakes made: one in the order and one during payment. However, both were rectified quickly and honourably and easily and that is a standout quality to me.
This local place serves delicious food, has a great team, and is worth checking out for sure.
5 stars from me.
I'll be back again...
Read moreDo you want food that brings you genuine joy? If you do, eat here. This is the kind of place you'd expect to be hidden away in some alley, that all the cool kids in the know would frequent. But nope, it's just sat on a main Street waiting for you to come inside and enjoy yourself. The walls are adorned with funky art, ranging from Hip-Hop icons to silly takes on the greats, my personal favourite was the Van Gogh taking a selfie. The music was also a big plus for the ambience Easy Street has achieved, all classic rap songs that you probably know at least a handful of words to. I caught myself singing along more than once. But you came here for the important bits, the real meat of why you visit any eatery. The staff and the food. I half expected staff that would be too cool to help you. I'm sure you know the ones I'm talking about, the kind of waiter you ask for suggestions and they just generically answer the most expensive item on the menu. But this wasn't the case in any regard, our waiter was an absolute legend, friendly, helpful and had awesome suggestions. Not that you'd need suggestions. I'm half inclined to go back just because the staff was so friendly, but I couldn't only go back for that reason. Because the food was so good any time it went back it would count as going back for the eats. I had the Maple Glazed Pork-belly and it was SOOOO good, paired with a Dr. Pepper and the Fried Pickle Poppers, you're in foodie heaven. My mother-in-law swore up and down her Royal with Cheese was one of the best burgers she had and I'm inclined to believe her. My sister-in-law had the Vegan Royal and was also extremely pleased. But, the surprise winner of meals was what my little brother had, the Chicken and Waffles, I can't explain how perfectly right Easy Street Diner has gotten this. Bravo ESD, bravo. So, while I did appreciate the waiters suggestions, I know in my heart of hearts, I could close my eyes, point at the menu, and would be happy with what I got. Seriously if you're anywhere on the Gold Coast and want to eat somewhere atmospheric, something tasty, with someone who will look after you, head straight to East...
Read moreI once gave this place a 5, these days I wish it could be a zero. They care mire about the amount of uber eats orders then the customers in store. Once the food finally arrived, it was an even bigger disappointment then the 45 minute wait. They sincerely just do not care about their customers or the experience they are offering. Unfortunately this will be my last time here. I hope you guys really have a look at what you've become and go back to your old ways.

This place used to be my go to burger bar. I've been a long time customer and often take out of town visitors here. A couple of weeks ago we had a very poor experience, where the server refused to change over our chips even though they had been served cold. 3/4 burgers were wrong and 2 were returned. I had also ordered a takeaway meal and when I got it home it was gross. We later found out the original owners aren't there any more, and it shows. Through the service. The busyness of the place, everything is a little second par. What was once my number one, has gone down to...
