Visiting 19 Karen Gallery a few years back was like finding a gold-plated unicorn in a field of regular horses! The art was so mesmerizing that I almost forgot to breathe. The staff was as friendly as a basket of puppies, guiding me through the exhibits with all the enthusiasm of a kid in a candy store. I left feeling like I'd been given a crash course in coolness. Great gallery, free, not snooty or pretentious and the art is always first class and changes regularly, the private collections are eclectic and unique, one of the best contemporary art spaces on the GC by far, I wish there were more like it, maybe one with more oils and landscapes etc, but this gallery is great, friendly, international and easy to find by GPS.
