WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!
The venue and ambience was amazing, the food was amazing and the cocktails were definitely on point.
10 of us came to eat which is a decent amount of dollars spent at Frida sol. The waitress I had however left me feeling really upset and disrespected. When the waitress took our orders she appeared vacant, and forgot to take my order, so my partner had to run up and place it for me. She came back and said kind of smugly “sorry my mind is elsewhere” I was not asked if I wanted anything else or another drink. My partner was asked if he would like a drink and so I had to ask for a drink order then. My drink didn’t come out for 20mins so I asked again if it was on its way, she said very vaguely “sorry I’m really hungover, I’ll check” I didn’t receive my drink or a confirmation so I asked a different waiter and he came back with my drink straight away, however no garnishes this time, just poured into the glass. My friend next to me asked the waitress what the cost of the charred corn was, and she said “I don’t know, I’ll find out”, which she never came back and told her. The food came out and it was all fabulous! However one of our table members was missing his taco, so we let the waitress know and she had a real attitude and said “I brought 10 tacos out, so one of you must of eaten it” This made my blood start to boil by this stage as I had remained calm the entire time. We actually ordered 10 tacos with the set menu and one person ordered a separate single taco. So only 10 were brought out not 11.
To be accused like this from wait staff I was shocked. I have worked in customer service, hospo and retail for 15 years and I would never speak to a customer like that, even if they were at fault. Which in this case we were not. The manager was kind enough to fix the mistake and the missing taco was
I genuinely haven’t had such sloppy service from a waitress before and she let down what an amazing place Frida sol is. I’m a very understanding person if the person makes me feel like they are sincere. Which she was not.
Maybe if she can’t handle drinking on a weeknight before a shift, then she should of refrained...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews as I know how hard it is to build a good reputation, but this is the second time I’ve left Frida Sol feeling absolutely unwelcome.
I chose this place to celebrate my birthday (Friday Sep 19th 2025) because I genuinely like supporting businesses that bring cultural diversity to Australia. I made a booking for 8:30pm as per the website availability and, when I arrived at the door, I remembered a previous visit when I’d arrived around 8pm and had been turned away. This time, however, I had a booking – and it was my birthday – so I had expectations. Sadly, it ended up being another disappointment.
When we arrived, several staff were around but no one greeted us. We were left unsure whether to walk in or wait, as the sign at the door said “Please wait to be seated”. Eventually, a staff member (without much warmth) sent us upstairs where almost all tables were busy. Since it was my birthday, I asked if we could sit downstairs instead – the atmosphere was much nicer and there were at least 3 or 4 empty tables. We moved down, but immediately felt pressured to order food as if we wouldn’t be able to eat if we didn’t order right at 8:35pm. We had barely looked at the menu.
When we tried to order drinks, a younger but attentive waitress told us that the bar was already closed. This was surprising, as Google clearly states the restaurant closes at 10pm. The food was fine, but being told we couldn’t even order a beer at 8:40pm – despite having a booking – felt unreasonable. We ended up eating quickly and leaving to find another place for a proper drink.
In short: I cannot recommend Frida Sol anymore. They open at 5pm, yet by 8:30pm it feels like they’re already pushing you out – either by saying the bar is closed or by making you feel like an inconvenience.
It’s such a shame, because I had a great experience here years ago. Something has changed, and unfortunately it’s...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to having dinner here. It’s somewhat of a family tradition to have Mexican on my wife’s birthday, as it’s her favourite food. However, this all changed 3 hours prior to our reservation.
Given that you cannot get into a restaurant these days without a reservation, I ensured that I locked in our booking online a number of days earlier to lock this in and it was confirmed.
I received a call at 3.20pm for a booking we had that night at 6.30pm.
Apparently, there had been a problem with the electronic booking system and our table was double booked by someone who had booked in early December.
I was then offered 5pm or 8pm. I have children, so 8pm was too late. 5pm was too early, as we had a birthday lunch that day
I let Frida Sol know that this booking was for my wife’s birthday, which was clearly stipulated on our booking, and that 8pm was too late. Frida Sol replied that they were sorry to hear that, but they had no other options, so could we make 5pm and could we call back to confirm? Seriously?
I have an email confirming our booking on Sunday 3 January for the birthday booking on 7 January at 6.30pm. When I booked this online there was plenty of availability for times. I then received another email on Wednesday 6 January to confirm our booking, which I subsequently did. How do you have a booking, get it confirmed twice by Frida Sol, and then have it cancelled 3 hours prior to your reservation?
We are incredibly disappointed with their action and response to this. Nothing was offered to compensate.
We have been holidaying in Palm Beach for 15 years and always support local restaurants. No other establishment has treated us this way before.
Everywhere was now booked, so thanks Frida Sol for ensuring that we had no options for my wife’s birthday, because everything...
