Mirrors Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Firstly let me just say that I do not Google review, especially not to say detrimental things, however, I read the Google reviews of this restaurant and that is why I chose to go to it – therefore I want you to know the truth. The single star is for the waitress who did her best to accommodate us and the rest of the patrons Firstly they asked us to come earlier but upon arrival we realized they were basically empty. Interior designed in the 70's and never updated.... It was a good 45 minutes before the food came out. The Entree was average at best - main was, well, no words describe the main meals - I usually finish all my meals even when mediocre, however, I could not finish the main - my mouth was burnt due to the haste with which I ate my entrée because I was so hungry by the time it arrived at the table and the main course tasted somewhat fruity – I believe this was the deep fried Cauliflower side dish… Not sure what that was all about. This Thai restaurant would have to be one of the best I've eaten at in Australia. I have been to Thailand a few times and I can not recommended the food here enough. It is very authentic and the meals produced in their kitchen have all the flavour of Thailand. We ordered a selection of four dishes and the flavour of the food was delicious. Don't be fooled by the unassuming entrance to the restaurant. There is a flashier looking Thai restaurant close by but I recommended you try this place first. If your journey is about the food rather than expensive looking decor then you are coming to the right place. The meal servings are of a reasonable size and the price is not too expensive. Tried this place after all the good reviews as a change to our regular Thai restaurant. If biggest serving is your guide then this place may be the one. Servings are huge. However, quality of food was very disappointing. Chicken tasted like chlorine and over cooked, noodles were super vinegary - they did not get anywhere near the balance of flavours right that you would expect in Thai cooking. Vegetables in all of noodle dishes were uncooked. Looked and tasted like the noodles were cooked separately and then the vegetable and chicken were added at the end.
