We visited the club on Saturday, 27/1/24. The atmosphere and service was really good with staff being very friendly and approachable, however the same cannot be said for the food. I ordered a poke bowl which I’ve enjoyed several times at many other venues so feel that I have a reasonable idea of how a Poke bowl should be. The dish that was served to me had a flattened chicken breast (cooked to perfection) over a large bowl size portion of steamed white rice accompanied by a very small serve of coleslaw with 3 edamame beans and a half teaspoon of seaweed. It should have been on the menu as ‘chicken with rice’ not advertised as a poke bowl. One of our guests ordered the barramundi with prawns (an additional cost of $9.00). The prawns on the small portion of barramundi were the size of my little finger! The barramundi was of average size and the serving of chips consisted of 10 chips! The best meal received at our table of four was the palmy parmigiana. The parmi was large with 10 chips only on the plate. We are members of the club and have been for many years and visit the club on a regular basis however our last few visits we have come away feeling let down by the standard of the food. It is also difficult to comprehend why this day and age a small fryer specially to cater for people with an allergy, such as coeliac for example, cannot be provided in a commercial kitchen so a coeliac can feel relaxed and confident when dining at the venue. I do not feel this is an unreasonable...
Read moreNice place, we had never been here before, we went on Sunday night. We asked for a table outside and got seated right by the door so all the servers and guests were walking by. We didn't ask to be changed though so that's on us.
I had the surf and turf. It looked amazing but I ordered it medium and it came very rare. I only ate the outside as the middle was nearly a blue rare and that's just too rare for me.
My husband ordered the PB burger, it was massive and he couldn't eat it all. He said it was good.
We got the grilled barramundi for our 2 year old. It was cooked nicely, came with chips and salad. The salad had a dressing on it which he didn't like so he didn't eat it. I would have asked for no dressing but it didn't say on the menu there was any.
The wine was way too expensive at $15 for 250ml and my husband didn't care for the NSW beer they had on tap.
We probably would not go back, just because there are several other options in the area and the experience wasn't the greatest.
Best pro was the food...
Read moreYou need to bring your ID (passport) to enter the restaurant, order the foods at the counter and drinks at the bar. Scotch Fillet 300g ($44): It’s served with an optional sauce (I go for hickory smoked BBQ glaze), chips and salad. I have my steak medium rare and turns out great, succulent and better than medium well as I usually had. Thick cut chips always stand out in better texture and taste than normal chips. Barbecue sauce is underrated for both steak and chips.
Blueberry Spritz Mocktails ($11): It’s quite sour, tangy, sweet, delicious and suitable for such environments.
Palm Beach is such a good place to check out and you can simply come here by 700 or 777 buses. There are quite some tables on the terrace where you can clearly see the ocean, Burleigh Heads and distant buildings north. To sum up, the cashier and bartender have great attitudes. The only shortcoming is that the menus have an odour. The prices can be quite high but definitely worth a visit and the foods are excellent. Overall, it’s a...
