This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experiences Iāve ever had.
From the moment we sat down, things went downhill. I watched a waiter pick up a fork and scratch his head with it. Within minutes, he interrupted a romantic moment between my partner and me, leaning over our table without a word to remove wine glasses we hadnāt touched. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was astounding.
Ordering was equally unpleasant. We specifically emphasized that we cannot tolerate spice and asked multiple times if "mild" meant no spice. The waiter responded in a condescending, almost mocking tone, as if we were incapable of understanding the concept. Despite reinforcing that spice was a deal-breaker, both dishes arrived spicy. The food was inedibleānot just because of the spice, but because the flavors were dreadful. The Massaman Curry, for instance, was an insult to the dish: dry, stringy beef and a sauce that lacked any depth or authenticity.
To make matters worse, they brought out an extra dish we had specifically asked to be removed from the order. The waiterās excuse? āOh, I mustnāt have heard.ā No apology, no effort to fix the mistakeājust another layer of incompetence to an already appalling experience.
When we brought up our concerns at the counter, we were met with outright hostility. The waitress cut us off mid-sentence, denied there was any spice in the food (while my mouth was literally on fire), and refused to take any responsibility. To add insult to injury, they demanded we pay for both meals, claiming that because weād ātriedā them, they couldnāt be refunded.
The lack of hygiene, basic customer service, and culinary skill was staggering. This establishment doesnāt care about its customers, and it shows. Save your time, money, and sanityādo...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust visited Lucky Mama Restaurant on the 6th Jan,we had a booking for 715pm,after reading the Website it said that it was opened until 9pm,I must say I was disappointed when I tried to order a second dish at 820pm and was told by the young waitress that they would be taking no more orders,I walked up to the counter and spoke to a young guy that appeared to be manager or owner who said this is Tugun and we always normally close around 730pm for eat in and around 8pm for take away, very odd when on line it says 9pm and we are in the middle of the busiest time of the year he proceeded to tell me the Chef lives 1 hr away .The food was quite nice but a large part of eating out is the experience and closing the kitchen to guests dining in that early on a Friday night is simply disappointing. I am involved in property development in the area and over the last 6 or so years have seen the area progressing like Palm Beach but unfortunately not in the case of Lucky Mama.Maybe a good idea for the owners who have quite good food to look at somewhere like Georges at Coolangatta to work on the customer experience and stay open a little...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to Lucky Mamaās many times and love the food . The prices have gone up and delivery sizes are small so you are only left with a choice of dinning in and on this occasion it was a Terrible experience. The Host seemed more worried about my 18mth old granddaughter making noise for the quests that werenāt there yet , it was insulting and considering she wasnāt screaming and for the night the other guests were waving and at the end of the night he snavelled the $100 cash instead of letting me pay on my card as Iām always trying to beat the boys to pay lol . I wanted to get two Deep Fried Ice Creams at the end of dinner but he was that keen to get rid of us he told us it would take at least 20 minutes to get ready , we wanted them to go !!! I honestly have never been treated so poorly for no reason ā¦ā¦.. maybe itās because we only spent $200 . Very Poor Effort Lucky Mamas and youāll be lucky to...
