I had the absolute pleasure of attending an overnight famil with Brisbane PA Network, which was co-hosted by Dorsett Hotel and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. I would not have thought to team these two entities together, but oh, what magic they created. CURRUMBIN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY: I had the pleasure of staying at the Dorsett Hotel and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. (Link to review below). Once we checked into Dorsett, we were met by Andrea Molnar, who was warm, engaging, and knowledgeable, and she delivered a wonderful experience. We took a shuttle bus from Dorsett to Currumbin Wildlife Centre and out time was nothing short of amazing. We were given candle lanterns to make our way up to Currumbin Homestead, where we were greeted by a string trio. The ambiance created by the string trio was met with stunning candlelight on a beautifully laid table, making for a truly memorable evening. The meal was perhaps the best meal I have ever experienced, sumptuous! Well balance palette of food and drinks, amidst the backdrop of kangaroos and emus! After dinner, we sat around the campfire and enjoyed another beverage under the stars. The next morning, we returned to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, where the day's activities were diverse and engaging. We we were treated with another a sumptuous meal, a decadent hot breakfast right next to the koala enclosure. As we enjoyed the delicious meal, we learned about the koala sanctuary from knowledgeable guides. The setting was perfect, allowing us to see the koalas up close while savoring our breakfast. We even had the chance to pat a few koalas, which was an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, we had the opportunity to take personal photos with Emily the koala, adding a special touch to our visit. Followed by the Indigenous cultural experience, which was particularly enlightening; we received an engaging history of the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) as well as some beautiful, heartwarming Dreamtime stories about the animals in the sanctuary. These stories offered a deeper understanding and appreciation of the cultural significance and history of the native wildlife. Followed by Wild Skies bird display was a spectacular highlight, featuring stunning bird life flying overhead. It was entertaining, enlightening, and honestly spectacular to see these magnificent creatures up close. We then stopped by the Animal Rescue Centre to hear how CWS is leading on incredible work - healing of cracked turtle shells - regrowing birds flight wings Next stop, Outback Springs, we had the chance to meet some farm animals and a few creepy crawlies too! It was a delightful experience, made even better by enjoying a billy-boiled herbal tea. We then returned to Currumbin Homestead, this time to sit on the outdoor deck, enjoying the idyllic setting and incredible food. The personalised care for those with dietary requirements was commendable, ensuring that everyone had a delicious and satisfying meal. We also received a delightful gift bag including a Currumbin wildlife kangaroo, plantable post-it notes, a drink bottle, and a pen. A visit to Currumbin Wildlife Centre is an absolute must for anyone in the area! I can honestly say every team member that we encountered could not do enough to ensure guests were well looked after. There is a real sense of family amongst the team that shines through. To spend time in nature, with animals, in their own safe space. To see the work those so dedicated to the protection of animals fills ones cup completing! The combination of the two entities together made or a truly spectacular weekend, where our every need was met and some! This style of package could work well for large groups, corporate events, wedding reception groups - the sky is the limit, where you really want to impress.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife lover’s paradise! 🦘🌿 If you’re looking for a day packed with amazing animal encounters and beautiful surroundings, this is the place to be. Here’s why I’m still buzzing from my visit: Kangaroo Paradise 🦘: Imagine walking into a large, open area filled with friendly kangaroos just lounging around. I spent a good amount of time feeding them—they’re surprisingly gentle and curious. It's like they’re waiting for you to come up and say hello! Don’t miss the chance to get a selfie with them. Koala Magic 🐨: Holding a koala was the highlight of my visit! These adorable creatures are as soft and cuddly as they look. The staff are really knowledgeable and take great care of the koalas, making sure the experience is safe for both the animals and visitors. I left with some fantastic photos and even more fantastic memories. Bird Lover’s Dream 🦅: The bird shows are out of this world! I saw eagles, owls, and parrots up close, showing off their impressive wingspans. Watching them soar through the sky, almost within arm’s reach, is something you have to see to believe. The colorful lorikeets also come down in flocks during the feeding sessions—it's like being in a rainbow whirlwind! Crocodile Encounters 🐊: If you’re into reptiles, the crocodile exhibit will give you chills—in the best way! Watching these massive crocs being fed is both thrilling and awe-inspiring. It’s a stark reminder of the raw power of nature. Snakes and Lizards Galore 🐍: The reptile house is packed with Australia’s most fascinating (and sometimes fearsome) creatures. From pythons that slither gracefully through their enclosures to monitor lizards with their watchful eyes, there’s something mesmerizing about these cold-blooded critters. Tasmanian Devils 🦇: I was so excited to see Tasmanian devils up close! They’re much smaller than I expected but full of personality. It’s amazing to learn about the conservation efforts to protect them from disease and keep their populations thriving. Wombat Wanderings 🐾: Don’t forget to check out the wombats! These chunky, slow-moving marsupials are adorable as they waddle through their enclosures. They’re surprisingly agile and full of character! Dingo Delights 🐕: The sanctuary’s dingoes are another must-see. They’re beautiful animals with a mix of wild and playful energy. Seeing them up close really gave me a new appreciation for these often-misunderstood creatures. Glow Worm Cave ✨: A hidden gem within the sanctuary is the Glow Worm Cave. It’s a magical experience, almost like stepping into a starry night underground. It’s short but sweet and adds a bit of extra wonder to your visit. Family Fun 👨👩👧👦: From interactive touch pools where kids can meet sea stars and crabs to the educational wildlife shows, there’s something here for every age. The park also offers plenty of shaded spots for picnics, making it a perfect day out for the whole family. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary offers more than just a chance to see animals—it’s an immersive experience that connects you with Australia’s incredible wildlife in a personal and unforgettable way. Whether you’re cuddling a koala, feeding a kangaroo, or marveling at the crocs, this place will leave you with memories to cherish forever!

Amazing place. Tips Bus no 700 goes to currumbin from Broadbeach south tram station so can't be missed and the drivers are king enough to announce the stop so no stress. Carry about 1l water per adult. You can carry snacks with you as well. Have a heavy breakfast and reach by 9am as a lot of animals go into the shade when the sun comes out and can't be seen. Follow the map it's fairly simple to read but helps a lot with navigating The train is good and has a stroller stand for little kids. But if you can, walk it's much fun however some places have upto 12 gradient. The shows are fun and timings are on maps. The 2 at Q2 are ones with mascots only useful if you have little kids. Pickup and drop off bus stand is same so be careful about where the bus is going. Plenty of parking is available so no worries there either. There are 2 "food stops" they have 3-4 shops the usual purgers and pies etc. Not expensive, priced the same as your average mall shops. 18.5 for a rice bowl OR a medium burger. Vegetarian options available. Apart from the food stops restrooms are available throughout though scarce, refer map. The train is a nifty option if you're not keen to walk, get it from the reptile enclosure which is to your left when you enter. You can book in advance or pay there for a personal koala piction or encountering an eagle or echedna etc. It's fun specially if you don't live in Australia. You have to go through A lot of enclosures specially aviaries and wallabys so keep that in mind that the animal can approach you. You can also feed a few animals like koala and kangaroos the place sells thier food and the volunteers there are very sweet and will help you pet them and feed them. Be careful though they are friendly not tame. The entire experience will take no more than 3-4 hours including 2 stops for food. The tree top challenge is a different ball game looked fun but haven't done it. It's your basic obstacle course but significantly difficult at advanced levels. Most importantly HAVE FUN!

Incredible. I hadn't visited in around 8 years. While some things hadn't changed some things most definitely had. This is a must-visit for anyone visiting the Gold Coast region. The entry process was quick when you pre-purchase your tickets in advance online via the park itself or via the NRMA app if you are a member. My favourite part was most definitely the rainforest. The sanctuary really lets you choose the adventures you want to go on. Even if you go and see the same thing twice it's different every time. The animals are given the best care and you can tell. I witnessed this first-hand when a rock wallaby was injured and attended to immediately. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any of the shows. My group was so busy exploring that we completely ran out of time. We intentionally visited on a Saturday to see the steam train. This train celebrated 60 years of loyal service at the sanctuary recently and it was a pleasure to see and ride on. The food was alright. I can't it was the best, unfortunately. I got the pulled pork burger and while the quality was good the portion size I felt was rather small for the burger and chips. The unlimited drink refill is of good value and I recommend this for a family. Apart from the train and, rainforest the other highlight was the world for lorikeet feeding. It is a must to do this. If you haven't been around parrots or birds it can be frightening at first but you'll be right. The grounds are well looked after and you can tell this place is managed and operated to the highest level for both residents and guests.

My family and I visited Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on Friday, April 26th, during school holidays. Our group comprised six members, including parents, grandparents, and two children. We arrived at the park around 12:20 PM, eager to experience its renowned attractions. Upon arrival, we decided to take the train to the vet hospital. However, we found that there was nothing happening or on display at that location and its surrounding. As we explored the surrounding areas, we discovered that the park terrain is quite hilly, which posed a challenge for our grandparents. Unfortunately, this aspect wasn't mentioned anywhere beforehand. One notable observation was the significant number of habitats that were either temporarily closed, out of order, or just closed. Though we did manage to attend the 'Wild Skies' and the Aboriginal heritage show, we were disappointed to learn that all other shows across the park had already taken place, with only one show or talk scheduled per day. In terms of pricing, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is relatively expensive, comparable to other renowned wildlife parks and zoos. As visitors from Sydney, we have experienced places like the Reptile Park and Taronga Zoo. We felt that Currumbin, though priced in that range, fell short of our expectations, leaving both adults and children disappointed with our visit. I believe if there was a reduced price entry for half a day this would've made more sense, but unfortuantely there isnt.

I have visited most of the wildlife sanctuary/Zoos in the area, unfortunately this was the worst one for me. It was one of the more expensive ones and it seemed to lack animals. The whole place just didn't look as appealing as the other ones. A lot of the enclosures looked a bit poor, the animals showed signs of stress and they honestly didn't look as if their enclosures offered anything stimulating at all. Some of the food for the Koalas looked very dry and desperately needed changing. There was quite a bit of construction when we visited, maybe it would have been better another time. We got there early and ended up having to wait 30 minutes, I have never waited this long to enter. It was only upon buying the ticket that I realised why they took so long as they asked for where you are from and phone numbera etc, lots of details that I didn't really see the point of knowing, no other establishments have asked this. I am sure they have their reasons but it just made the waiting time quite long. The wildlife bird show was probably the best part of it, they did encorparate some humour into it, the girls were great. I am sure they know what they are doing and all the animals are well looked after, these were just observations that I made comparing it to other places. If the price reflected it then I wouldn't have been too bothered about it not being as good, but to say it is more expensive than other places it was very disappointing. I'd go elsewhere.
