I had the absolute pleasure of attending an overnight famil with Brisbane PA Network, which was co-hosted by Dorsett Hotel and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. I would not have thought to team these two entities together, but oh, what magic they created. CURRUMBIN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY: I had the pleasure of staying at the Dorsett Hotel and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. (Link to review below). Once we checked into Dorsett, we were met by Andrea Molnar, who was warm, engaging, and knowledgeable, and she delivered a wonderful experience. We took a shuttle bus from Dorsett to Currumbin Wildlife Centre and out time was nothing short of amazing. We were given candle lanterns to make our way up to Currumbin Homestead, where we were greeted by a string trio. The ambiance created by the string trio was met with stunning candlelight on a beautifully laid table, making for a truly memorable evening. The meal was perhaps the best meal I have ever experienced, sumptuous! Well balance palette of food and drinks, amidst the backdrop of kangaroos and emus! After dinner, we sat around the campfire and enjoyed another beverage under the stars. The next morning, we returned to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, where the day's activities were diverse and engaging. We we were treated with another a sumptuous meal, a decadent hot breakfast right next to the koala enclosure. As we enjoyed the delicious meal, we learned about the koala sanctuary from knowledgeable guides. The setting was perfect, allowing us to see the koalas up close while savoring our breakfast. We even had the chance to pat a few koalas, which was an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, we had the opportunity to take personal photos with Emily the koala, adding a special touch to our visit. Followed by the Indigenous cultural experience, which was particularly enlightening; we received an engaging history of the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS) as well as some beautiful, heartwarming Dreamtime stories about the animals in the sanctuary. These stories offered a deeper understanding and appreciation of the cultural significance and history of the native wildlife. Followed by Wild Skies bird display was a spectacular highlight, featuring stunning bird life flying overhead. It was entertaining, enlightening, and honestly spectacular to see these magnificent creatures up close. We then stopped by the Animal Rescue Centre to hear how CWS is leading on incredible work - healing of cracked turtle shells - regrowing birds flight wings Next stop, Outback Springs, we had the chance to meet some farm animals and a few creepy crawlies too! It was a delightful experience, made even better by enjoying a billy-boiled herbal tea. We then returned to Currumbin Homestead, this time to sit on the outdoor deck, enjoying the idyllic setting and incredible food. The personalised care for those with dietary requirements was commendable, ensuring that everyone had a delicious and satisfying meal. We also received a delightful gift bag including a Currumbin wildlife kangaroo, plantable post-it notes, a drink bottle, and a pen. A visit to Currumbin Wildlife Centre is an absolute must for anyone in the area! I can honestly say every team member that we encountered could not do enough to ensure guests were well looked after. There is a real sense of family amongst the team that shines through. To spend time in nature, with animals, in their own safe space. To see the work those so dedicated to the protection of animals fills ones cup completing! The combination of the two entities together made or a truly spectacular weekend, where our every need was met and some! This style of package could work well for large groups, corporate events, wedding reception groups - the sky is the limit, where you really want to impress.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience on the Gold Coast, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is an absolute must-visit. Nestled in the lush surroundings of Currumbin, this iconic sanctuary offers an incredible opportunity to interact with Australia’s unique wildlife while contributing to conservation efforts. My recent visit, booked effortlessly through Klook, provided a delightful mix of adventure, education, and breathtaking encounters. Upon arrival, I was struck by the natural beauty of the sanctuary. The 27 hectares of lush rainforest and landscaped gardens create a calming atmosphere that instantly transports you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thanks to Klook, I had a seamless entry with my mobile ticket, eliminating any hassle at the gates. The diversity of animals is truly impressive. From kangaroos and koalas to exotic birds and reptiles, there was always something fascinating to see. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to get up close and personal with koalas during the "Koala Encounter" experience. As I held a koala, I could feel its soft fur and was amazed by its gentle demeanor. It was a magical moment that truly showcases the sanctuary's commitment to providing ethical and enriching interactions with the animals. The wildlife shows are another highlight not to be missed. The team of knowledgeable keepers deliver engaging presentations that educate visitors about the creatures inhabiting Australia’s unique ecosystems. The “Free-flight Bird Show” was a particular favorite of mine, where brightly colored parrots and raptors soared above the audience, showcasing their agility and beauty. The keepers’ passion for wildlife enhancement and education was palpable, making the experience not only entertaining but also informative. For families, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary offers endless fun. The playgrounds, animal encounters, and opportunities to feed kangaroos provide a hands-on approach to learning about wildlife conservation. Watching children’s faces light up as they interact with animals is heartwarming and reaffirms the sanctuary’s role in nurturing a love for nature in future generations. Dining options at the sanctuary are varied and cater to a range of tastes. The café offers delicious meals made from locally sourced ingredients, ensuring that you can recharge after a busy day of exploration. I particularly enjoyed the fresh salads and smoothie bowls, which provided a refreshing break amidst the wildlife adventures. Moreover, I was impressed by the sanctuary’s commitment to conservation efforts. The admission fees contribute to their ongoing work in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, as well as extensive conservation programs. Knowing that my visit was helping protect the native wildlife made the experience even more meaningful. In conclusion, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is an essential stop for anyone visiting the Gold Coast, whether you're a local or a tourist. The enriching experiences, educational programs, and conservation initiatives create a fulfilling day out that the whole family will cherish. I highly recommend booking your tickets through Klook for a stress-free experience. Whether you’re coming to see the koalas, feed kangaroos, or witness incredible wildlife shows, Currumbin is bound to leave you with unforgettable memories.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife lover’s paradise! 🦘🌿 If you’re looking for a day packed with amazing animal encounters and beautiful surroundings, this is the place to be. Here’s why I’m still buzzing from my visit: Kangaroo Paradise 🦘: Imagine walking into a large, open area filled with friendly kangaroos just lounging around. I spent a good amount of time feeding them—they’re surprisingly gentle and curious. It's like they’re waiting for you to come up and say hello! Don’t miss the chance to get a selfie with them. Koala Magic 🐨: Holding a koala was the highlight of my visit! These adorable creatures are as soft and cuddly as they look. The staff are really knowledgeable and take great care of the koalas, making sure the experience is safe for both the animals and visitors. I left with some fantastic photos and even more fantastic memories. Bird Lover’s Dream 🦅: The bird shows are out of this world! I saw eagles, owls, and parrots up close, showing off their impressive wingspans. Watching them soar through the sky, almost within arm’s reach, is something you have to see to believe. The colorful lorikeets also come down in flocks during the feeding sessions—it's like being in a rainbow whirlwind! Crocodile Encounters 🐊: If you’re into reptiles, the crocodile exhibit will give you chills—in the best way! Watching these massive crocs being fed is both thrilling and awe-inspiring. It’s a stark reminder of the raw power of nature. Snakes and Lizards Galore 🐍: The reptile house is packed with Australia’s most fascinating (and sometimes fearsome) creatures. From pythons that slither gracefully through their enclosures to monitor lizards with their watchful eyes, there’s something mesmerizing about these cold-blooded critters. Tasmanian Devils 🦇: I was so excited to see Tasmanian devils up close! They’re much smaller than I expected but full of personality. It’s amazing to learn about the conservation efforts to protect them from disease and keep their populations thriving. Wombat Wanderings 🐾: Don’t forget to check out the wombats! These chunky, slow-moving marsupials are adorable as they waddle through their enclosures. They’re surprisingly agile and full of character! Dingo Delights 🐕: The sanctuary’s dingoes are another must-see. They’re beautiful animals with a mix of wild and playful energy. Seeing them up close really gave me a new appreciation for these often-misunderstood creatures. Glow Worm Cave ✨: A hidden gem within the sanctuary is the Glow Worm Cave. It’s a magical experience, almost like stepping into a starry night underground. It’s short but sweet and adds a bit of extra wonder to your visit. Family Fun 👨👩👧👦: From interactive touch pools where kids can meet sea stars and crabs to the educational wildlife shows, there’s something here for every age. The park also offers plenty of shaded spots for picnics, making it a perfect day out for the whole family. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary offers more than just a chance to see animals—it’s an immersive experience that connects you with Australia’s incredible wildlife in a personal and unforgettable way. Whether you’re cuddling a koala, feeding a kangaroo, or marveling at the crocs, this place will leave you with memories to cherish forever!

We had a nice day at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, however not as wonderful as we’d hoped. We caught the bus from Broadbeach South which was a very straightforward experience with the bus stop being a short walk from the park entry. Despite the website saying tickets must be pre-purchased online, we had to line up for close to half an hour in the blaring heat / full sun because they were allowing people to buy tickets at the gate (and it seemed like no one else had pre-booked). Despite having pre-booked online, there was no separate queue or ability to ‘skip the line’ which was a frustrating start to our day. You save a few dollars booking online ($51 per adult compared to $55 at the gate); both prices feeling expensive though. The park is very large and there are lots of different areas to explore with a variety of different animals. Our son particularly loved the dinosaur exhibit and watching the pelican feeding. The train around the park is a fun experience however doesn’t run until midday which is worth being aware of. It’s nice however that it doesn’t cost any extra. There were barely any kangaroos to be fed, however nice that they don’t charge extra to do this (like some parks in Sydney do). The staff in the kangaroo area were very friendly and let us know which kangaroos to approach and how to approach them which I appreciated. The food is extremely expensive, so if possible to bring your own food I’d definitely recommend it (pies $9.50+, burgers $17+, drinks $6+) - it adds up quickly if feeding a family. The water area is fun and our son had a ball running under the various fountains. There are lots and lots of shaded seating areas around the park and several playgrounds which are definite positives - they’ve definitely thought extensively about the usability of the spaces which is great. Overall we enjoyed our visit however I do feel it was an expensive day out for what it was - but I guess when the theme parks are charging double, they’re probably banking on people seeing it as a more affordable option.

I only really wanted to get a picture with a koala which was easy to do. The koala area was right in front of the entry. You get one professional photograph with a koala per person. Very quick and easy and they allow others to take photos while you are taking your photo with a koala. Then you pick it up at the gift store when you exit, I did pre bought my ticket and koala photo which I think is always good to do. The zoo had many areas and many animal displays. It also has a kids playground and more things to keep the children interacted like the extinct species area where there is a sandpit that they can play in. They have shows to keep the kids entertained near eating area. There's also a train that goes around the zoo and a set timetable so you are able to time trips. There is a vet hospital which allows you to see the animals that have been treating and donation options. It even has glass so you can see the volunteers and vets treating animals. There was construction around the hospital area in June when I visited and also past the dingoes. There are many volunteers that help around the zoo which do know a lot about the zoo. You can spot them in their zoo volunteer uniforms. They had a lorikeet feeding time at the beginning which I missed but has a whole program of shows that are worth watching. These programs range from eel feeding to the flight show. There is a large adventure climbing park above the kangaroo area. So you are able to climb and are close to the kangaroo area. It was great that you can easily buy kangaroo feed which was $2 , I recommend getting change to use the dispenses because sometimes the workers are busy in the shop. They have many exotic animals and the aviaries were filled with many bright coloured birds. There was one aviary still under construction which may be finished. Overall the zoo is great for families and friends. Also there is a lot of walking and further down near the dingo area it is hilly, so when you visit make sure you have comfortable clothes and shoes.
