Horrible anniversary dinner here waited over 40 minutes for out main and I politely let them know about it and then apologised, which was fine I get it's not their fault. Then our food was served finally and my meal was over cooked, and it took a while to get someone's attention before again I kindly informed them that I was unsatisfied with my meal. I was then told to wait and they would get the manager. Great more waiting. Then the manager rudely told me there was nothing wrong with the meal and told me that if it was burnt black like the table then he'd understand...I then said that I would not pay for my meal, I would pay for my partners but not mine. Then told me I had to still pay for the meal regardless of how unhappy I was. Ha whatever then. He then asked if I wanted the meal still I said no I just told you I cannot eat this it's over cooked. Then he left and returned with the bill and both meals....only it was in a takeaway container. I have never been served by more of a rude person that did not care how unhappy I was. I even had another waiter come up to our table to make sure I was okay because she could see how distressed I was about the situation. So yeah not happy at all. Not saying don't go here just giving you guys an insight on my experience. (Yes I was rather angry whilst writing this) Never coming back. The second time I was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery dissapointed this time. Have been dining here for about 12 years or more. Went Saturday night for a friends Birthday, 4 adults, Mr 6 and Mr 2, and was very dissapointed with the service. A very rude lady kept taking plates, napkins etc from our table if we didn't glue them down.
I was standing up holding Mr 2 feeding him Mr 6's left over pizza and she tried to take the plate as I was putting a piece back down.
Then she tried to take the high chair away, so a friend politely said could you leave that please, we're not finished with it. She abused my friend saying we have been rude all night.
This lady must have some serious problems and I feel sorry for her, and the business. We spoke to the manager, but we might as well just be speaking to a pizza.
And speaking of pizza, first time I have had a pizza here, usually get a beautiful chicken meal, and so sorry I opted for a $24 pizza that had 6 small prawns and not much flavor, and Mr 6 had a basic chicken, cheese and sauce pizza that they charged $18 for, which is the price of a kids meal with drink and ice cream, which he didn't have.
The original owners were an absolutely lovely couple that cared for the customers as much as the food and they way they dressed.
We are all sad that our once adored Luna Rosa is slowly going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friends and I dine at this restaurant regularly as well as having food delivered. I saw the reviews below with the complaints and guess they're anonymous for a reason (wonder what!).
The food is really good here, fresh Italian ingredients with local fish and seafood. The service can be slow as the food is cooked to order except for obvious things like lasagne, so it will always take some time. My family own a number of Trattorias around London and the same thing is true - people even choose to wait an hour in those London restaurants to be seated because of the freshness and quality of the food.
Back to Luna Rossa, we wouldn't order from the restaurant so often if we didn't think it was top notch and well worth the money.
The restaurant is BYO for drinks and there is a shop you can buy drinks from around the corner.
I would thoroughly recommend this family run Italian Restaurant to anyone to visit, I personally don't live very close to it and think it's well worth the travel - certainly much better food in my opinion than say Mama Roma...
