Q: How was the takeaway experience at New Dragon Chinese & Thai Restaurant, Gold Coast? We ordered takeaway and everything was packaged well - boxed, clearly labelled and easy to carry. It was nice to see the extra effort in presentation for a takeaway order, which made it convenient when we got home. However most meals were poorly sealed and leaked throughout. Q: How was the food quality? The food was okay overall. Some dishes were enjoyable and had good flavour but a few felt a little flat and could have used more seasoning or freshness. It wasn’t the best Chinese/Thai we’ve had on the Gold Coast, but it also wasn’t the worst, more middle of the road. Q: How was the service? Service was polite and staff had everything ready without fuss. The order matched exactly what we asked for and the clear labelling on containers was really appreciated. Q: Are portion sizes and value for money good? Yes - the portions were fair and lined up with the price point. Nothing felt stingy, but not overly generous either. Just what you’d expect for a casual local takeaway spot. Q: Would you recommend it? If you’re looking for a quick, no-frills takeaway meal, New Dragon Chinese & Thai is fine. For a more flavour-packed or authentic experience, there are other Gold Coast options I might try first, but this worked well for a casual night in. Omg worst Chinese food experience I've had for years. To start $3 for corkage, had to open my own bottle and ask for ice. 'Special' Fried Rice is just fried rice. I asked where are the prawns or shrimp even, the chicken the eggy bits and bean shoots. No you have to pay another $4+ for chicken or prawns in the rice. So its just Fried Rice not Special Fried Rice!!! I asked for salt n pepper squid which isnt on menu but they can do for same price as the prawns. Asked if I can have a mixture of prawns and calamari to the waitress, no quarrels. Got a plate of s n p squid only 4 pieces and the rest was fish, which I didn't ask for or want. Again I pointed out the error. With bad attitude I was presented with 5 s n p prawns on a plate and told with attitude again that they dont mix up the menu. WELL TELL YOUR STAFF THAT!!! And to top it off the dine in menu is $3 - $4 more for each dish. $4 for a lemonade. This place is a rip off with false advertising and bad attitude. Such a...

When I walked in, I was skeptical as it didn’t seem like it would have the best Chinese. But really I was craving it, then when I walked in. I was greeted by a worker, he didn’t say many words but his simple silence was enough for me to know I was in the right hands. I knew when I ordered this man was going to look after me and ensure my dining experience was slapping. Then when I ordered, the worker may look unenthusiastic but in reality he was more than enthused to work. That became more obvious when I was greeted with 5 star Chinese. Never in my life have I had Chinese that tasted so good, I never knew the microwave could be used so well. I will be returning for the beautiful Chinese, if you are looking for something that will fill you up as well as workers that treat you so well. I thank the young quiet unenthusiastic teenage boy for making my experience beyond amazing Pick this Chinese over any over; as you know they make the best Chinese and manage to make microwave...
