Quite disappointed with this fish and chips shop and I probably won't return.
I ordered battered barramundi with a minimum chips with chicken salt. I paid close to $20 for this order but what I received was the customer's order who came after me - fish and chips of the day for $10.
I was number 59 and the lady after me was number 60. My concerns were raised when they called out number 60 first. I watched as the fish, which looked like the piece I had selected, was placed on top of the chips which were loaded with chicken salt. I didn't question it at this point because both our orders came out of the deep fryer at the same time. Perhaps she ordered a similar deal to me?
I then watched as the lady placed unsalted chips and a battered piece of fish into the next container. My number was then called.
By the time I arrived home and started eating, it was obvious I was not consuming barramundi and chips with chicken salt. The chips were quite dry and the fish tasted a little old - confirming I likely received the fish of the day order.
For the premium price I paid to enjoy a nice piece of barramundi, I was left more than disappointed. Normally I would purchase from Fishbone at Crestwood Heights as they are always fresh and the chips are always delicious. Read moreOk so apparently these guys have been in business for 19 years!! Time to go guys, you are clearly over it!!! We expressly went to this store to have “fresh fish and chips”. We chose our Barramundi from the cabinet, ordered our chips, potato scallops and pineapple fritter to go with it. Drove home with it smelling delicious, unwrapped it ready to eat and guess what? The “fresh fish” was still uncooked and had been wrapped up for us to cook at home?!!!! WHAT? Yes! When we rang them to tell them “hey guys our fish isn’t cooked, why on earth would you do that?” We were told that’s normal, lots of people do that and besides that, apparently they had asked us if we wanted it cooked or left fresh Are you kidding!!! So a 20 minute round trip back with the raw fish and instead of an apology and a full refund for our trouble we got told that it was our fault as we had told them we wanted it fresh!! The staff were downright rude so I asked to speak to the owner whom they got on the phone. She also told us we asked for it to be raw!!! Yeah right. So now that we are complaining, their fresh fish is in fact unfrozen “fresh fish” which you can apparently go home and freeze again!! Confirmed by owner and staff!! Fresh fish means NOT EVER FROZEN doesn’t it??? Never ever going back...

When I returned to get a refund because that is unacceptable he at first acted like he would return my money, then tried to tell me to come back the next day to see him about a refund. The owner then messed around and tried to imply that because there was only a fly in one meal that the other was fine. I didn’t accept that and advised that the conversation was being voice recorded and I would report him to the health authorities. He then demanded my name and address and I refused and gave him a name and number. He then attempted to call multiple times and only refunded my money when I advised that the call wouldn’t go through whilst I was recording and that I wouldn’t stop until I left the shop. Whilst extremely disappointed with not only the food but his attitude I would’ve left it at that. He however then proceeded to follow me out of the shop and take videos and photos of my car and myself. He has been reported to the council and I would advise to eat your own feet before...
